TriTriSim has released ⭐ TFX Emergency Effects, a new freeware add-on now available on Flightsim.to, which brings a wide range of emergency-related visual effects to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Designed to simulate elements typically absent from the base simulator, TFX introduces visuals such as aircraft fires, electrical sparks, water splashes, and crash animations. The package is compatible with both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024 version, and supports a wide selection of aircraft.

The core purpose of TFX is to improve the simulation of emergency scenarios by visually representing events like crash landings, hard touchdowns, engine fires, or gear collapses. These effects aim to add immersion during failure training or scripted scenarios by offering visual cues that respond dynamically to aircraft conditions. The add-on supports both native and third-party aircraft, and the development team plans to expand compatibility and features through future updates. TFX includes two main components that must be installed: the base package and a material package. Together, they provide the core effect assets needed for the add-on to function. After installation, you can choose specific aircraft for which you want the TFX effects enabled. This modular system allows for targeted installation, so you can customize which aircraft in your hangar will use the emergency effects.

To install TFX, you’ll need to download the installer from Flightsim.to. The installer will attempt to detect your simulator’s Community folder automatically. If it doesn’t, you’ll be prompted to select the correct folder paths manually. Once the folders are set correctly, the base and material packages can be installed. The material package is approximately 1.4 GB in size and may take some time to download, as it pulls directly from GitHub. Afterward, you can choose the aircraft you want to enable with TFX effects using the options provided in the installer.

The add-on is still in open beta, and the developers advise that bugs and compatibility issues may occur. For ongoing support, feedback, and update notifications, you are encouraged to join the TFX Discord server. TFX is completely free to download and use. There are no subscriptions, paywalls, or locked features. However, if you find the add-on useful and wish to support its continued development, donations are accepted via the developer’s Ko-fi page. You can download the current beta release of TFX Emergency Effects from its official page on ⭐ Flightsim.to.

What a great concept! Thanks for the effort and freeware!

No one needs such a tool. Only a bloodthirsty crowd of spectators. More than that i fear that airlines will eventually ban the use of their trademark in the simulator.

Its about darn time the MSFS series had some realistic consequences to accidents.

Its called realism. most serious flight simmers demand it. anyone who plays combat flight sims is used to it.

    It is a game…

Not going to happen. The airlines currently do not use MSFS20.24 for sim training.

Sounds as if you’re the tool here. This is not terribly complex: If you don’t like it, don’t download it. There is absolutely no reason to disparage somebody else’s work. Go post a Twit on X (formerly Twitter), TikTwat, SnapCrap, or some other platform where you feel your opinion has an impact.

God you’re such a dense cornball.

Same answer. Not going to happen.

Put it simple: You don’t like it? Don’t download it. You like it? Download it. Simple. Also you have nothing to do with trademarking or airlines, so this worry shouldn’t be enough to justify you including it,

But he is 100% correct. The airline manufacturer’s will not appreciate this being used to show crashes. Why do you think Dassault and Gulfstream have always refused licenses for people to model their aircraft? It is a simulator not an arcade game.

Why are you having accidents in MSFS? Other than intentionally?

Given this is a flight simulator where you act as the pilot in the cockpit. I’d love to see how people explain that having fire coming out of an engine adds to the ‘immersion’ given the pilot in the cockpit could not see it in real life, and wouldn’t be walking to a passenger window to check if the engine is on fire. Commercial grade simulators don’t have this, nor do they need it. Its a flight simulator, not an arcade game.

on your own on that one

    lighten up capt douche 😄

Simulators don’t have it built into the game because no company wants their brand seen in a negative light and are worried about their brand aka their bottom line. However, there’s something called reality where crashes do happen, fires do happen, bird strikes do happen, and etc, and people do want the added realism, so why are you complaining about that, or do you want to continue pretending that bad things never happen on flights because that’s simply not realistic.

Yet car racing games and other sims show crash damages on their cars because guess what, people do crash their million dollar plus Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, yet they know many would still rush to buy one if they had the chance so trying to justify why a company won’t put their plane in a game cause they’re worried about crash damage is silly.

    100% the truth.

You just had to be that guy.

It’s there for people who want to see flames. It doesn’t affect any other characteristics of the game/simulator, it purely visual. For those who don’t like it or don’t want it, don’t install it.

Quite useless until there is a normal installation !!

Somebody out there needs this. Big applause to the creativity, don’t like it - tell it to Asobo / Microsoft to get rid of external views?

I was thinking the same thing. However this is a very cool mod with the effects. On the other hand, Im usually trying to avoid these. And almost never have these particular issues. 5 stars for effort!
