The freeware Fokker F27-MK500 for Microsoft Flight Simulator has received a new update, bringing a series of fixes and improvements to the simulator. This standalone aircraft, developed by Bgaurant, features an Air Inter configuration and offers two cockpit versions — one in French, replicating the original setup, and another in English. Both versions retain the Tapir autopilot system.
The latest update introduces several refinements. Key corrections include making the slip/skid ball visible at night, resolving lag issues with the rear door animation, and ensuring the LOC/ILS frequency is now compatible with the GPS when the autopilot is engaged. Additionally, the door warning light, which previously remained on under certain conditions even when the door was closed, has been fixed. The torque indicator scale has been adjusted, allowing for a descent at 11,000 RPM with reduced fuel trim.
Further refinements include linking the seatbelt and no-smoking switches, as well as the steering, to the default Microsoft Flight Simulator variables. A new addition in this update is the inclusion of decals for both the upper and main panels, which can be hidden if not needed. Additionally, a KLN90B "vintage" GPS version, created by Falcon, has been added, though it requires a separate download, with the link provided in the aircraft documentation.
The creator marked this aircraft as compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, but some in the community report that it also works with the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version.
