The first build of Van's RV-7 has arrived for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, bringing the popular homebuilt aircraft into the virtual skies. This initial release focuses on the taildragger version equipped with a glass cockpit, with plans for additional variants and liveries to be included in future updates.

The RV-7 in this version showcases a range of enhancements. Notable improvements include a completely updated 3D model, refined flight performance, and a reworked cockpit featuring two G3X avionics displays alongside the GNS 530. A three-blade propeller has been introduced, alongside updates to the UV mapping, animations, and ambient occlusion for a more immersive experience. The developer has also addressed prior issues, such as a battery malfunction, while improving lighting and interior details.

However, the aircraft is currently experiencing Level of Detail (LOD) challenges, which will likely be resolved in upcoming updates. Has been for years, this is just a 2024 updated version uploaded by the same person. The AI that wrote the article just wouldn't know that because I'm sure FS addon sites are at the bottom of the list for LLM datasets.

To be fair, the 2020 version has a slight bug with the alternator not producing enough power to keep the battery charged, and will die in the air after about 20 minutes. An official update for it by deejing would be nice, but it's fairly easy to work out a work-around yourself.
edit: LOL, looks like it got updated 2 days ago to fix all that, and I never noticed. Rendering all of this comment pretty useless, sorry about that.
