The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III stands out as a behemoth in the world of military transport aircraft. Born from the collaboration between the U.S. Air Force and McDonnell Douglas in the late 20th century, this aircraft serves a myriad of critical missions worldwide. From strategic airlift tasks, medical evacuation, to tactical drops, its presence is felt across various air forces including the U.S., UK, Australia, Canada, and many more. Creator Destroyer121 has released a major update for the C-17 Globemaster mod for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Update 3.3 promises to take your flying experience to the next level.

    What's New in Update - 3.3:

For those who've been tracking the GitHub branch, some of these changes might look familiar. If you've already updated from there, you're good to go. But for everyone else, here's what you can anticipate:

    • Aircraft Overhaul: The 3D model has been completely revamped.
    • Systems and Features Update: Introducing a new sound, lighting, avionics, and aural warning system. There's also a fresh fuel/electrical system to explore.
    • Cockpit Enhancements: More immersive cockpit experience with more controls, a newly added Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), and a re-imagined texture and geometry.
    • Performance: The update is optimized for PCs across the spectrum.
    • Functionality and Fixes: From autopilot improvements to addressing bugs like wing mesh holes, unaligned nav displays, and more, this update promises a more seamless flying experience.
    • Add-ons: Look forward to an IRU logic for nav displays, anti-ice controls, a new WACAP display, and more. Plus, indulge in aesthetic details like engine covers, cones, and "remove before flight" tags.
    • ... And Much More!: The list goes on with further improvements, additions, and fixes.

Beautiful airplane. Easy to fly manually. I have not tried it yet on autopilot, but I think that will be OK also.

Indeed, a magnificent aircraft. However, in my system it starts with spoilers extended on the wings and I cannot find the function on how to lower it and eventually at landing how to extend it. Answers may be directed to : degeuspiet@gmail.com

Unfortunately without a working FMC. For me it's a no go.

Yes, also after touchdown with susequent go around, the wheelbrakes cannot released and then you run off the end. But, it is still a work in progress; it looks great and basically works fine, but there is still a lot of work to be done. My respect for the builders. It is a good job and in time it will compete with paid aircraft. Thank you, guys.

Great improvement over the previous model - though the airspeed scrolls in the wrong direction still on both the HUD and PFD.

Awesome free aircraft, just can't seem to get it to follow an ILS approach. Once it gets within 20-50 miles of the airport it deviates from the flight path and flies directly to the airport (not aligned with any runway) instead of the path to the ILS approach.

C-17 speed tape scrolls from the bottom up, different from Boeing.

I stand corrected - and it's to do with the a/c flying closer to the drag curve on approach as it's a heavy air-lifter. It would be awesome if stage 1 thrust reversers could deploy whilst flying so that a 9k fpm tactical descent could be simulated.

20-50 miles of the airport to fly an ILS?

20 miles is to far for any approach

Follows flight path until I get 10-15 miles out and then doesn't find the ILS just starts doing circles. Anything I'm doing wrong? Wasn't an issue before.
