DC Designs has fully converted their original Microsoft F/A-18C Hornet for FSX Acceleration to native Microsoft Flight Simulator format for distribution as freeware only. The team partnered with CJ Simulations to bring this product to the community.

We have converted this aircraft as carefully as we can, integrating the avionics of the F/A-18E along with the sound, while also creating custom code for further systems and a completely new flight model that features the F/A-18C's legendary high-alpha flight capabilities.

The F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine multirole combat aircraft manufactured by McDonnell Douglas, part of Boeing since 1997. Its maiden flight took place in November 1978, followed by entry into service in January 1983. The F/A-18 was designed primarily for use on the United States Navy's Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. Its flexibility in engaging ground, sea, and air targets at long range makes it the primary offensive and defensive component of a U.S. aircraft carrier battle group.

The airplane has been tested with the Jayshrike moving aircraft carrier add-on, along with significant flight testing to ensure the flight envelope is as good as they could get it. Microsoft Flight Simulator's native effects have also been added, along with selectable fuel tanks and weapons load-out. The team also confirmed that all of the many hundreds of add-on liveries that were available for the FSX version of this aircraft can easily be converted to work with the new version and they have added new PBR layers to enhance the appearance of the existing textures.

If you are seeing lines in the sky thats the thermal visualisation, which can sometimes trigger and get stuck on.

Great plane - many thanks for making it available. BUT - I flew it yesterday, all good. Today I can't get the brakes to disengage. Manual start, auto start, reboot - all the same. Suddenly I'm stuck in the "chocks"....?
    Any help on this?

OK. SoNames files are stored and use the local cache of the PC . But names are too long because the memory is very limited. To bypass the problem I use mklink. It creates a link that the computer open when loading fs20.To do so:1) Go into your cmd and execute as admin.2) though (" E:" "D:" "F:" or what ever) tell your computer where to work on . My FS is in storage E ,so I tap in the cmd "E:" (without "").3) writte "mklink /d"4) let a space and put the full name of the community folder5)add to this without any space and with a / the target folder 6) let a space and paste the full target name so its look like this :mklink /d E:........community/thefilenameofmyliveryorplane E:thefullpathofmynewlivery7) Press enter.
Ps if name has a space bar you need to use " at the end and start of eatch location. here i am doing an example with an concorde livery but it works the same for all aircraft.
