Developer Lunar Simulations is working on a Freeware Boeing 767 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. On Monday, they have shown new progress on their aircraft, which has been in development since October 2021.

The photos above show the state of the aircraft and its systems. They have been integrated with the Salty Simulation systems, which allow the plane’s autopilot to function well. The aircraft is planned to come with a fully custom PFD, upper and bottom EICAS, and animated many elements of the cockpit. The 767 can now be cold and dark started. However, there are still many elements which require improvement. In the future, there is a high chance that this freeware mod will move to entirely new systems. However, that is not planned for a long while, until most of the aircraft is done. Mainly, creating an entirely new FMC/CDU, and new MFD will take a while on their own, as well as creating an entirely new autopilot system, which will also take a while.

To follow the development process, you can join Lunar Simulations' Discord server. There is no estimated release date yet.

Have to take these freeware products with a grain of salt. Hopefully it doesn't become abandonware!

It's really ironic how this freeware 767 is going to be better than the current payware 767

    or captain scam quality

767 was my "go to" plane for FSX long haul flights. An MSFS version that is not a scam is sorely needed.

I hope they do up the Flight Engineer's panel like a few airlines flew. I have all the 767-277 manuals from Ansett available.

Looks great, but if it "flies" like the FBW 320 it'll be a major deception. Hope they make this one justice because a proper one from PMDG is quite a few years away.

Start at https://flightsim.to/ Just click around and get familiarized with the site. At the top of the page are some payware stuff, nearer the bottom is some of the more popular recent freeware

This is gonna be great. Many fond memories of attempting (with varying degrees of failure and success) to fly them in FS2002, 2004, and FSX.
IMO, this is just one of another signes that the FS2020 freeware scene is really starting to ... erm, take off (which IMO is awesome as the freeware scene is just as integral a part as the payware scene to the FS2020 scene/community!)

I agree as someone who uses almost exclusively freeware

ITS ABOUT TIME!! I can't wait!

Although the design did indeed start out with an option for the FE, after the presidential commission in the USA paved the way for 2 pilot large jet operations in the 1980's no one, as far as I know, flew them with an FE. If I recall correctly, the miniscule few that were FE configured (and most of those had the FE panel overhead), got modified to the standard two pilot configuration. Where was the FE panel on the Ansett version?
