The development team of iniBuilds has updated their freeware A310 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This update was already available as a beta version in the beta build of Microsoft Flight Simulator. This time though, it is also available for everyone on the stable release of the simulator. As this aircraft update comes as an update of the simulator itself, the information about the update was shared through the Flight Simulator forums.

iniBuilds has done a plethora of fixes around the build of A310. In the release notes of 1.29.30.0, it is mentioned that the team has done improvements to textures, the EFB, sounds, as well as the systems of the aircraft. Speaking of the sounds, for example, the A310 should sound much closer to reality with its fixed volume levels, tweaks to engine sounds, brake fan sounds, ground roll and much more. The team also fixed texture glitches in the cockpit.

The EFB revamp brings improvements such as automatic METAR lookup based on selected airports, and automatic wind, temperature and runway calculation depending on the METAR. The team also fixed the issue which caused variable wind to be inserted into the EFB, causing problems with calculations.

The FMC received fixes for the SimBrief support. IniBuilds has fixed numerous crashes within the FMC, making the aeroplane systems much more stable. However, there is still one known issue remaining, which may cause the aeroplane to freeze. This happens when you try to access the secondary flight plan without the primary flight plan entered. The simulator update itself improves some stuff for developers. From Sim Update 11 onwards, the Asobo Studio team has applied some restrictions in allowed files in the SimObject group in the SDK. This however will not affect end users, rather than developers.

This has been really fun to fly. A nice switch up from the Fenix and PMDG

I hope they have been able to fix the ATC problem.

This is old news, the update was released last week, ATC still broken, engine sounds still broken and more nav bugs are still there, they just posted what it was on beta for everybody to download without fixing the present issues.

It still doesn't compile on first load. With the PMDG 737 I have between 45 and 75 FPS, with the A310 just between 15 and 30, a total stutter fest.

Even tho mine didnt as well the FPS issue went away, so something changed.

I run MSFS at 24fps locked, you don't need blistering frame rates if flying commercial airliners and the movie industry standard is 24fps and I have never had stutters at this frame rate.

You can not compare FPS in a movie with FPS in gaming. And i know that it is about smoothness not high FPS in Flightsiming. In the past I had my Frames also locked at 30 FPS, which was the half refresh rate of my Display (60Hz) because i got barely above 40 FPS so i locked it at 30. But things changed with the time when my hardware got better. And now with a 3070 and a new love for Sim Racing, I got new Standards. And it isn't stuttering by me with the 310, very slow would be the better description. The frames with the 310 are also below the sync range of my display... so I'm not really happy at the moment with the addon even though it's free. I hope they can fix it, it's otherwise a decent addon.

My PMDG B737 and Fenix A320 are acting whacked in VR since the update for me and the A310 wont even load in VR without a CTD. Poor framerates with both.

The ATC voice still needs fixing. I hear AI aircraft and ATC but cannot hear myself. This is an on and off problem.

Unfortunately the aircraft is unusable. Any "serious" flight planing gets met with a crashed FMC. I'll uninstall it, until it's fixed. Pity, because it's a beautiful aircraft.

    How?

From 20-24 frames per second, the human eye can no longer recognize individual frames. But stuttering can be seen in fast movements of up to 60-80 frames per second. The film industry solves this problem by blurring when there is fast movement - then it is not noticeable.

I still can't fly the default a310. Powers up only to shut down upon start ...no refiring it up.
