As mentioned earlier, Developer Fenix Simulations is working on their own rendition of the Airbus A320 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Just now, after an hour's prior announcement on their Discord server and more than one year of development, Fenix Simulations has officially released this highly anticipated Airbus aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator on its own webshop at a price of £49.99. Fenix Simulations promises full immersion and speaks of "the future of high-fidelity airliner simulations".

It is worth to note that the Airbus A320 by Fenix Simulations is officially licensed by Airbus. The Base package includes the A320 CFM. The IAE engine variant, and sharklet wing-tip devices will follow as free updates to the base package in the future. Moreover, the base package includes:

    • 181 Free Liveries
    • 200+ Simulations of Failures
    • 288 Working circuit breakers
    • Customisable aircraft configuration
    • And so much more!

The aircraft comes with a feature-complete autoflight suite, including full lateral and vertical guidance modes, RNAV/RNP-AR capabilties, and complex route construction supporting multiple ARINC424 leg types such as Radius to Fix (RF) legs. A “physical” fluid dynamic and air-mass simulation is modelled, with thousands of working components from control computers to individual mix valves for the pnuematic system, represented - and all wired to their respective power source/networks on the aircraft, for an truly in-depth simulation.

The team at Fenix Simulatioons produced this aircraft from their own proprietary 3D scans of the real aircraft. The soundscape is fully 3D too, with every sound placed in the physically correct location and sound recordings made onboard an actual A320 for maximum accuracy and immersion.

It's just a few days after the release of PMDG's Boeing 737-700 that Airbus fans are now being rewarded for their patience. Together, PMDG's Boeing 737 and Fenix Simulation's A320 offer interesting and challenging new additions to Microsoft Flight Simulator that have been eagerly awaited for years. At this time, no difficulties with the purchase process have been reported to us. However, buyers will have to create their own account with the Fenix Simulations shop and save their credentials to receive future updates.

It looks very nice and I'm sure it's a great plane. Is it so much better than the FBW A320 to warrant paying 50 pounds? Dunno...

Yes. Flew it last night. VNAV is perfect. It's a great plane. I like it better than the PDMG 737 actually

No idea, sorry. At least for now, a cc seems to be requidred...

HI GUYS I,M 76YRS OLD BOUGHT LAST NIGHT, FLEW IT TODAY. MY OPINION FAR BETTER THAN FBW. IF YOU WANT TO FLY LIKE A REAL PILOT THIS IS AS CLOSE AS IT GETS. GREAT WORK FENIX

Depends what you want. If you want to fly from A to B in something that simulates an Airbus, probably not. If you want to fly from A to B in a way the almost perfectly replicates every system on an Airbus and simulate real world operations, then maybe so.

It looks like a great product. Anyone who bought it and really flew the FBW... can you post a good comparison? Pros/Cons? I am really interested in this Airplane... I bought the PMDG737 and I'm extremely happy with it... but this one also seems very detailed. I have not bought anything from Fenix Sim.... so no idea on the quality of their products. I am now ALWAYS very careful before buying these addons because of what happened with CaptainSim with those fiascos.

well there is hours of content you can find both on youtube and twitch to make the decision for yourself.
from my experience; It looks like this is the most advanced a320 simulation for any sim. it is a bit above PMDG in both texturing and systems (288 circuit breakers!) and is miles, miles ahead of the FBW (but you can't really compare them, FBW is free) There are some bugs and issues, but that is expected for any new aircraft and the staff said they are working hard on fixing them.
But the one thing I can promise: you cannot compare this with captainsim 🙃

Aamir said it will be available in a few days, they just had some issues with paypal locking their account due to the massive activity in a short time

Not really worth it.Yes the cabin looks great but the simulation is nearly as advanced on the fbw. If you want to buy one plane go with the pmdg737.Flight model and handling wise you will feel no difference to the fbw (at least non that worth the money)

fair assessment. I'll wait a bit more then, it seems a great addon... just need more reviews to make an educated decision.

The question is: if you have the FBW, which is great and free, is the Fenix worth paying 50 pounds for? I don't need 288 circuit breakers. I do need accurate flight dynamics and decent system simulation - which the FBW has (and keeps updating). I am not trying to nix a product here, I guess I'm just saying that the free version might be all we need.

The FBW isn't "something that simulates an Airbus", it simulates quite a few systems well, the flight dynamics seem excellent. Plus, they keep updating their free product. I guess I don't need every circuit breaker and fan simulated, so the Fenix may not be for me.

I had used the FBW(experimental) since inception, and while its good, it simply cannot begin to compare to the Fenix. If you are after accurate flight dynamics Fenix is the mark by which all other flight sims will be judged. Dont take my word for it, try it yourself! I havent used FBW since getting Fenix(about 30 mins after it was released)...cant justify it as its a huge backward step.

until MSFS2020 fixes their flight dynamics you arent going have realistic flight dynamics in any aircraft.

If you are looking for a in-depth A320 with older engines FENIX is it. The FBW doesn't even hold a candle to this. Had a lot of fun with FBW but its literally a toy in comparison.

Flight model and handling wise? Huh this feels like a different machine compared to the FBW. I feel like I actually flying an Airbus.

Quite heavy on the fps I must say. Its a fun plane to fly and I like it more than the FBW. XBOX users aren't missing out anything. The external app require to run this takes a huge toll on your CPU.

yoo this is cap. The system of the fenix is way ahead of the fbw, flight physics, the efb, amount of detail can't be matched by fbw at least right now.

it will be available in a few days:)

fenix beats it in everyway except performance takes a hit and pacx,fs2crew wont work so no passenger experience in the way of boarding sounds and announcments

Again the same...is like the competition to see who does the best a320...we have already 2 perfect ones,,and now a third?? A-340 or 350 would be epic. Sorry guys if im being a downer, not my intent

As mentioned before, flight dynamics is mostly MSFS2020 dependent....And yes, it has more features, which is great!But... you need a much stronger and faster PC as for FBW, if you want to have the same simming experience as flying FBW. So it won't stop with just the $60,=. One may have to consider to upgrade PC Hardware.

About captain sim. Dont expect them to do anything good for us. They only really care about P3D customers since those suckers are the only ones willing to pay 200 dollars for the full 757 collection.

Yeah mee too thats the thing. A friend of mine is actually an airbus engenieer and he says out of 100drets of pilots only one managed to see were the fbw (not the fenix9 flightmodel) was inaccurate. Its no boing and thats why flying an airbus is dagerously easy.Remember the asia airlines crash ? The same thing happend to an lufthansa crew only that they were smart enough to pull the autopilot fuse. Honestly only ground handling is different and better than in the fbw but thats the easiest part.
