    Description

    This is not a stand alone aicraft, you need the Microsoft/Inibuilds MU-2 as a base to use these files.

    This project has been a labor of love, it has taken as long as the MU-2 has been on the Market Place. It all stated by a request from my friend David Barnett (Capt. for Southwest Airlines) with flight training and flight experience with the MU-2.

    This project turned out to be a rather extensive, comprehensive and very time-consuming as I tried to updates to many parts of the default Asobo/Microsoft/Inibuilts MU-2.

    Please be aware that these files will affect many textures included in the original Inibuilts MU-2 package, the changes will be to the COMP files.. Once more, these files will affect repaints you have collected.

    My intent is to enhance them and add some not all of the details within the Cosmos Textures.

    I also included a full interior and exterior repaint which for practical purposes I called Cosmos.

    Before using PLEASE read the included PDF.

    THE FOLDERS INCLUDED IN THE ZIPPED FILE CAN BE USED INDEPENDENTLY OF ONE ANOTHER OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH ONE ANOTHER, OR NOT AT ALL (SIMPLY DELETE THE FOLDER). ALL WILL RETURN TO DEFAULT.

    Please delete previous version before installing this new one.

    Corrected a few small texture discrepancies

    Added a change to the rear bench seat texture (Navajo Tapestry Center).

    Thankyou for your efforts with this one. All works OK in 24 except for the propellor levers if using the performance folder. They move but have no effect. Possibly just since SU4 update.

    You've marked it as compatible with 2024, but as far as I can tell, only the liveries work in 2024. The performance mod appears to have no effect, which is quite a shame, because it really saved the poor, underpowered MU-2 in 2020. Highly recommended for 2020!

    Hi .. the MU-2 performance on my side has remained the same as in 2020. But as 2024 remains a bloody mess I cannot do anything until it becomes stable and WE get access to critical files. This will not happen as all files are now mostly encrypted.
    If and when we find a way to modify critical and texture files, I will update everything.

    First of all: I don't have any experience irl with this plane, so I don't know exactly what are its real behaviour and performance.
    That said, I installed only the "performance changes folder" and I have to say that there's a huge difference with the default MU-2: the acceleration is way faster, affecting take off and climb performance. It also handles way better, and flares more gently during landing.
    Personally, I really like this mod. The only thing I don't like is the fact that even if you only install the performance folder, it still changes the interior cockpit lightning which doesn't match my taste and also afflicts FPS. I deleted everything in the "effects" folder so now the cockpit lights are like the stock MS version.

    In an upcoming release this week I have removed the EFFECTS folder.
    I have also fixed the nose paint on the Cosmos livery, rivets and screw textures redone to allow background color to be used. Also reworking some performance parameters..

    I'm sorry but this still flies AWFULLY. Not holding that against you - it's nigh on impossible to really improve Marketplace aircraft that are encrypted. The MU-2 is the worst flying aircraft in MSFS in my opinion. From take off to landing it just feels odd. Nothing like the real MU-2, which is quirky and unconventional, but still really sweet to handfly (as the X-Plane model was too). This INIbuilds job is just a write off as far as I'm concerned.

    I have to agree, I was just trying to sort of fix the flying brick. Bring it up to date texture wise.
    Also hoping that there would be slight improvement to flight.
    With flight in mind I also provided the full array of config files for other to help and tweak. Maybe someday we will get something better as this could become a community project it the powers to be allows it to happen.

    Great to see a performance enhancement for the MU-2 as the default version needs some attention. Great to see the various parts in separate folders so we can pick and choose what we want to use. Didn't like the pull to the left you have introduced, but that is just a personal preference.

    Thanks for the feed back. If it had contra rotating props that would help keep it centered 😜.
    Let me check it out and if I can tone it down a bit I will.
    BTW, I really like your repaints. Keep up the good work.

    Would it be practical to separate the aircraft improvements from the cosmetic improvements? I'd love to try out the flight improvements, but I'm satisfied with the exterior cosmetics and don't want to scrap my livery collection at this point. Kudos for all the hard work!

    If you have Add Linker which can be found here on this site, just download it and once familiar with it's use simply check or uncheck thefoldes/files you do not want to use. Each folder works independent of one another, or in conjunction with one another.
