Fictional livery for the DHC-2 Beaver “Air Service Iditarod“ (N225W).
This livery was custom made for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race.
The Iditarod Trail Sled Dogs Race, more commonly known as “The Iditarod,” is an annual long-distance sled dog race that takes place in Alaska in early March. It travels from Anchorage to Nome. Mushers and a team of 12 to 14 dogs, at least 5 of which must be on a leash at the finish line, complete the route in 8-15 days or more. The Iditarod began in 1973 as an event that tested the best dog sled drivers and teams, but evolved into today's highly competitive race.
Numerous aircraft are in use to support, secure and possibly rescue the participants. They are also called Iditarod Air Foirce.
The Iditarod Air Force (IAF) is a group of volunteer pilots who donate their time and aircraft to the Iditarod before and during the race. Before the race begins, they load their planes with drop bags and fly them to checkpoints along the course. This ensures that when each musher arrives at a checkpoint, they have their drop bags there with the items they need for the race.
This livery is a tribute to these excellent pilots.
If you want to accompany the race yourself by plane: Our member 55tom55 created all 12 landing spots on the trail for us.

Dear 55tom55, thank you very much for this great adventure.
Best wishes from Germany (less snow, no sled dog race and no bush flying there, have pity with me)
