Installed the addon and it says found 105 aircrafts, but there's none shown in the list. Screenshot: www.willynanita.com/files/am.png

Please make sure you read the Known Issues section on https://sonicviz.com/project/aircraft-manager/ as well as the Installation instructions.
It's possible you are using the Modern UI addon, which is a known conflict.
Modern UI has not been updated for some time and does not appear to be supported any longer, as noted by the MU developer themselves on https://flightsim.to/file/22352/ms-fs-2020-modern-ui-2-0 (Scroll to just above the comments)
" The author does currently not recommend downloading this file and has unlisted it. This may be due to several reasons, for example, the file may need to be updated."

Thank you, it is working now.

It would be nice having the feature to store automatically last location (airport where the plane has been left) like Xplane used to do by default
sonicviz 8 day(s) ago
Thanks for the feedback.
Why the downrating for a feature that "xplane used to do"?
It's not always possible to implement features due to sim and/or sdk limitations, so it's best not to assume that's it's possible to implement things that you might personally want. Not sure why that warrants downrating a free addon that helps you solve other issues now.
skymax84 7 day(s) ago
I did not downrate it...I just proposed a new feature and gave a rate, regardless of that missing feature
sonicviz 7 day(s) ago
aok, thanks. I'm not sure if that's possible but will take a look sometime to see if it is.
There are some issues with doing that though, as it assumes the user is always using that last airport for something, and saving them all could add up quickly to a maintenance issue.

Finally. Paid for pro version as tired of flicking through 4 lots of control menus each change and having to change them. Now it just select the plane from presets menu, love it - well done, worth the money.

You're welcome and thanks!

Can you make it so it would be possible to change plane after flight has begun? Much like you can do it when in devmode. In dev mode you can change plane and livery at the same time.
sonicviz 2 month(s) ago
I've looked into that and so far can't find a way to emulate what they are doing in developer mode to do that. I suspect it's custom code they have hooked into the developer mode, but will keep poking at it and maybe I'll have a lightbulb moment.
In the meantime, just use developer mode to switch planes.
Not ideal, but at least it's an option.
zaelu 2 month(s) ago
Yes, far from ideal but livable without it for now.
One more question please. The profile loader is included in the free version too of Aircraft Manager?
Thank you.
sonicviz 2 month(s) ago
Please check the version comparison at https://sonicviz.com/project/aircraft-manager/ to see where they differ.
zaelu 2 month(s) ago
I did.
What I understood is the free version has no automatic load of profiles but I thought the profile manager is present in a manual form but I don't see the image shown in the thumbnail of the YouTube video above for example.
sonicviz 2 month(s) ago
Actually I alao mention it in the main description here, if you scroll up a little:
Aircraft Manager Pro V1.0.2 now includes Auto Control Profile Switching.
It's not in the free version, as specified in the version comparison as N/A ie: Not Available.
You can't really do a lite version of it as it's pretty complex to do under the hood, unfortunately. Some people are also using more than 12 devices. Switching is also not instant, you need to give it a few seconds due to the time MSFS itself takes in switching devices/presets. V1.0.4 just released also includes countdown timer so you can know when the switch it is complete.
>>Aircraft switching
Unfortunately we're limited to working with what is exposed via the SDK, and it seems that functionality is not available outside the debug environment at the moment.
zaelu 2 month(s) ago
Aha, OK. Thanks for your reply.
Maybe what is not included in the free version should not be shown as thumbnail in that video as it will be practically an ad to a payware and can be perceived as misleading.
sonicviz 2 month(s) ago
It's stated quite obviously right above it's a pro feature, and also mentioned in the video. If you watched the video that would be obvious.
It's also plainly stated on the website feature comparison, and included in the download as well btw.
There is no "misleading" at all. It's quite well deliniated what's in the free vs pro version, and there's an expectation that users should research the product (Free or otherwise, doesn't matter) fully, read the documentation, and watch the videos.
The website is always the most up to date information, with current release notes and feature matrix, so should be the first point of reference for any info for Free or Paid, not here. That's why it's mentioned in the description.
There's no obligation to upgrade, the free version is free and contains a lot of useful functionality to save you time and give you more insight into your aircraft and locations. Enjoy.
zaelu 2 month(s) ago
Well, we can discuss semantics but there is a video on this page (not another one on the internet) with a thumbnail that shows something that is not included in the package.
Maybe you consider it clearly stated but in my case I installed the mod from here believing I will see what is presented in that thumbnail and the video name is "Aircraft Control Presets"
Yes maybe you say on your site etc that "AUTOMATIC controls switching" is not available on the free version but this does not stop anyone from believing that maybe MANUAL option is available for free version since is shown on THIS VERY PAGE.
How a manual versus automatic work is to anyone's imagination and speculation (like you have to click the plane in plane manager then click the controls set associated with that plane for the MANUAL and click just the plane in plane manager and the asociated control set will be AUTOMATICALLY loaded for the payed version or etc etc.
Point is... it can give the impression the feature is pressent in some form and it is not present in any form.

Please complete your app and add favorite livery of aircraft and five star column for favorite location and also aircraft and also livery
sonicviz 4 month(s) ago
Thanks for your feedback (and rating), they're all great ideas.
>>Liveries
We're limited as to what can be implemented by the underlying MSFS UI framework, as we're building on top of that. I've looked into the livery system previously, and it's not possible to change how it currently works ie: you only have access to the liveries of the selected plane. So they currently can't be added into the main aircraft manager grid. It may be able to revamp the livery interface similar to the grid interface though, so I'll add that to the list to see what's possible in future.
>>Favorites
Favorites are a included in the pro versions already. Favourites are a simple on/off binary choice, it's a different use case from a rating system, more granular.
I hadn't considered a more fine grained star type personal rating system, but I'll add that into the list to look into sometime as well.
However, you have access to 1 character tags in the free version, which is (in english) 26 alphabet characters + 10 digits. You can easily devise a personal system using these to favourite and or rate your aircraft with these, and use sorting on them organise. eg: use 1 to 5 tags to rank your planes, with 1 being the most favorite, and down from there.
Thanks for your input!
Happy flying.

Any chance Location Manager could be used to specify custom cold and dark start locations? Still searching for something that will let us put seaplanes anywhere on the water, put a STOL plane on the ground out in the wilderness, and generally just the ability to land a plane, save the location, and load it up again later in said location... I do not understand why something so simple and essential eludes us this long after release
sonicviz First Class 4 month(s) ago
Not currently, maybe downstream. As a primarily STOL pilot (and low level racer) myself I understand what you mean, but it's actually not that simple to implement, which is why you don't see it.
My current approach is to start in the air anywhere, land anywhere, and go from there. This is why the current location manager teleport is set to teleport you to 1000' AGL at a saved location, so you can land quickly, if you wish. Landing practice is always good, especially STOL😜
Then you can reset to cold & dark, touch n' go, or whatever you wish to do.
I'll copy.pasta my FAQ Q&A that addresses this from https://sonicviz.com/project/location-manager/
Q: Can I save specific airport gates or ground points as cold & dark start locations?
A: Short answer: not currently. Long answer: Location Manager is intended to be a generalised location manager for storage and retrieval of locations, to act as a starting point for your next flight. The intent is to zoom back to the saved location, THEN you manually select what you want to do for the flight by another click as per normal map use: start in the air in the general area, select a specific parking spot for a cold and dark, select a runway, select a water runway (in the case of a location with both land & water runways), or select the airport and let the sim decide the runway. In fly mode, you can teleport to saved locations at 1000' AGL, then decide what to do.
While there’s a use case for doing fine grained location saves like the latter examples, similar to the start of a flight plan depature setup, LM is not intended to do that. I’m also offsetting that custom location “Go” marker from the original lat/long so the new zoomed “Go” custom marker doesn’t obscure the original maker in the case of it being a POI/Airport/City etc.
All that said, LM is a work in progress and R&D to cover use cases like the Q above is ongoing. Stay tuned.

Understood... I use the same method but it's so immersion-breaking, isn't feasible at all for some planes/helis, and the random chance of spawning in, encountering a performance stutter, and coming back to a crashed plane is always fun. So long as it's on your radar I'm happy, as ultimately it's Asobo's responsibility to add the feature (not holding my breath there)

I actually just saw the e-mail! Man you are killing it; I wasn't expecting auto control profiles at all, one of the most needed QoL features in the sim, and now this so fast, what the actual #$%! who are you... please Asobo make this man an offer he can't refuse
sonicviz First Class 3 month(s) ago
heh, that'd be nice! Glad it's useful.
These are just some fast follow up things I had on the todo list that didn't make initial release but I felt were important to provide some kind of a solution too.
Now they're out AM/LM will be focused on on fixing any issues with current functionality. I really want to keep these as focused lean and mean enhancements for a number of reasons (MSFS SDK/UI integration risk being a big one), so that's it for now on the new feature front.
