KANK-Harriet Alexander Airfield is a small regional airport located in central Colorado in the United States. It is located near the town of Salida in Chaffee County. This is and extensive rework of the airport and surrounding area to more accurately represent it as it appears in the real world.
Modifications include: Replaced most all objects with hand made models of buildings, hangers, and other scenery objects; Remake taxiways, taxi signs, and add newly added taxiways; Relocated windsocks, beacon tower and fuel station to their correct location; Added navagation landmarks and hazardous objects including the new "Poncha Springs" water tower and power lines with anit-collision balls at the end of runway 06, the historic "Smeltertown" 365' smokestack near the end of runway 24, added 2 wide PAPI lights to both ends of the runway, and traffic circle at midfield; extensive rework of vegitation in a wide area to reflect more accurate trees and foliage that live arround the airport (Many of the default trees were too tall and presented a landing hazard.)
There are many other "easter eggs" such as signage on buidings and fences.
This is a truely more realistic representation of my hometown airport located at 7500' near the continental divide. Enjoy!

Fantastic Job! You can see the attention to detail put into this airport. Lovely airport to fly into The Heart of the Rockies.

This is an outstanding piece of handiwork! Payware quality without question. The custom main office and its interior, as well as custom hangar renderings are spot-on emulations of the real world airfield. The miscellaneous signage, trees, fuel station details, or any one of a number of airfield assets - even the satellite dish on the south side of one the western hangars - show a wonderful attention to detail here. It's fabulous to have such a true-to-life rendering of KANK at last.
Flying the Collegiate Range corridor from Leadville (KLXV) and down along the spine of of Sangre De Crito Range to Alamosa (KALS), over Great Sand Dunes NP, and onto points south is one my favorite runs for a "scenery filled" GA flight. This scenery really anchors the area now.
This is a must have airfield for those of us love flying in the Colorado Rockies. Thanks so much for sharing with the community what was clearly a great deal of work!
