SVBM - Barquisimeto Jacinto Lara International Airport (Detailed Airport Improvement) & Barquisimeto City Landmarks
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Jacinto Lara International Airport (IATA: BRM, ICAO: SVBM) is an airport in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, named after Venezuelan independence hero Jacinto Lara. It services the city of Barquisimeto and others such as Acarigua, Yaritagua, San Felipe, Chivacoa and Carora, the main cities in the west-central area of Venezuela.
It is one of the most important airports of Venezuela, and given its position in Venezuela, it has domestic flights to Caracas and international flights to Caribbean islands such as the Dominican Republic and, formerly, to Curaçao and Aruba, and it had flights in the past to the United States (Barquisimeto is geographically closer to Miami than Caracas is). The airport was inaugurated in 1961; it has one terminal building with two levels, banks, restaurants, stores, taxi services, Wi-Fi service, and other services.
The runway length includes a 470 metres (1,540 ft) displaced threshold on Runway 27.
The Barquisimeto VOR-DME (Ident: BRM) is located on the field.
THE AIRPORT IN MSFS:
This is a detailed improvement or enhancement of the default MSFS Barquisimeto Airport mostly using default Asobo/MS assets, plus several external object libraries (see "Dependencies and Credits" below) and 3D models taken from 3D Warehouse/SketchUp for hangars, shelters and sheds.
NAVAIDS:
There's a VOR-DME Station located within the perimeter of the airport (ID: BRM), with a frequency of 112.20 MHz, close to the end of runway 27, and it's represented in the scenery. Charts are included for Instrument ILS and VOR-DME approaches into RWY09. The Airport Diagram is also included.
BARQUISIMETO CITY LANDMARKS:
Approximately 28 iconic very well known buildings, business centers and malls are included in the scenery. If you know the city, try to identify all of them flying really low. You will be able to see the Sambil Mall, the Trinitarias Mall, the Obelisco, the "Cuatro", several office buildings and many others.
INSTALLATION:
Simply unzip the downloaded file, extract the scenery main directory ("edpatino-barquisimeto-airport-svbm") and put in manually in your Community Folder. You'll find a Documentation sub-folder with the Charts available for this airport. Please read carefully the following section about dependencies.
DEPENDENCIES AND CREDITS (READ CAREFULLY):
I would like to thank all those 3D artists that offer their work for free at 3D Warehouse. Dozens of these models were used to build this scenery (red door open hangar and more than a dozen red-roofed hangars near the main terminal at the airport and all the included city landmarks).
Several library packs were used for the design of this scenery, and I'm very thankful to their creators for their excellent work with the libraries:
www.jpfil.com/quebec-fs2020/scenes/Collection-avions.zip - Static aircraft collection
https://flightsim.to/file/4696/dave-s-crooked-library - Objects
https://flightsim.to/file/17182/totof-aircraft-library-v1-1 - Static aircraft collection (v4)

https://flightsim.to/file/17179/totof-library-object-v1-1 - Totof Library Objects (v5)
https://flightsim.to/file/14024/windy-things
I would also like to thank @Windhover for its wonderful set of open hangars and @colinj for their LOD optimizations and models library. Several of them were used for the construction of this airport. You don't need to download any of those, as you would do with any other dependencies, because they're library models already included in the scenery.
Last but not least, you need to have the previous World Updates installed, particularly those for Japan, USA (specifically the default KSEA Seattle Tacoma International Airport included in the MSFS Standard Version) and the UK (please check in your Content Manager), to be able to see several objects and buildings used for the scenery. Also, it's strongly recommended to install the UK2000 Common Library, which can be downloaded and installed for free from the Marketplace and the AIG Traffic package to be able to see the Conviasa Embraer 195 and Venezolana MD-83 (local airlines) static aircraft parked in the main apron (please remember to have the "Conviasa" and "Venezolana" flightplans installed in your computer).
Hope you all download and enjoy the Barquisimeto International Airport and the city landmarks as much as we do!.
NOTE: If somebody has access to custom 3D models for the main terminal and control tower and is willing to share them, please PM me, as we could work together and improve this scenery furthermore.

https://flightsim.to/file/26325/open-hangar-library
Saludos

Thank you very much edpatino! I didn't realize how beautiful Barquisimeto really is from the air. That video just gave me goosebumps. I have landed at that airport many times to visit my family in Yaracuy for almost 40 years since I left. Sadly, MSFS 2020 does not do justice to the beauty of this Venezuelan city. Thanks once again 😊

Hi, my wife is also from Yaracuy (born in Chivacoa and lived in Sabana de Parra) and we used this airport back in 2012-2013 to go back and forth when we lived in Caracas. Glad you liked it. Enjoy!
