About this file

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 shows Islamabad Airport (OPIS) and allows you to fly to and from this airport. However, when I flew to the airport at night time, I found myself landing at a runway that had no lights. I have started fixing the lights and have done the lights for two runways. Next I will try to fix lights for other parts of airport.

To use this mod, just unzip the attached archive and then copy the opis1 folder to Community folder of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

    I was having the OPIS taxiways to disappear after putting the mod in community, removed the mod and got the airport back. Is it something to do with the config file?? after the msfs2020 update?

    lights look good but the jetways are missing... any plan to fix that?

    Nice work you did bro.I also sent Microsoft screen shot of night time without runways & taxiways lighting.Really appreciated your work.

    Hi!

    I was wondering how you have managed to do the enhancement - did you have to recreate the airport from the beginning or? :)

    I'm trying to do the same for one of my local airports, but without creating a whole new one.

    I did not have to recreate the airport. First I used a Polygon to Terraform the runways area. But I did not exclude anything so original runways continued to show. Then I added an Airport with same name and code (OPIS) as existing. I added the new runways and set the required lighting for these new runways. But I kept the new runways transparent so they do not hide existing runways. As a result, I now have existing runways with lighting :).

    Edit: I think I added the Airport first and then the Polygon.

    Thank you so much for explaining this, it's a really good process for a workaround before we can all edit the existing airports! :)
