LIDT TRENTO MATTARELLO, Aeroporto G. Caproni
After months of work, I'm thrilled to share with you my version of the G. Caproni Airport, located in Trento, northern Italy
With it's 1km asphalt runway can accomodate lot's of differente airplanes types, from small cessna, turboprops to business jets. Departing from there you can fly within minutes to some of the nature wonders of italy, like Marmolada, the Dolomites or the Lake of Garda
The building in the scenery are all custom made, based on real pictures taken by myself at the airport at the end of the previous year (thanks covid.)
key features:
- fully custom made building
- PBR texturing
- rain effects on main tower windows and nearby glass fences
- super crisp true to life apron texture and taxylines
- custom and appropriate night lights
- a bunch of animations: drones, trains, flags interacting with the wind, custom windsocks, and a working digital clock located in the control tower (they really have one there tuned on zulu time)
- to improve realism, and a special gift and thanks to the wonderful guys at Soccoso Alpino / 118, have modeled a custom AW139, with animated blades and lights
- land side has been modeled as well, including roads and the railway
- fps friendly (sort of, i'm running a laptop on ultra @45 fps)
NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO RE UPLOAD THIS PACKAGE ANYWHERE (keep that in mind allflightmods and such)
COMMERCIAL USE IS NOT ALLOWED, if you need, please ask
to come:
- animated hangar doors
- published RNP approaches (those actually are only for helicopters,
Know issue:
- near the Adige river, part of the cycling pathway is sloped, waiting for a better resolution mesh or better sdk tools
INSTALLATION:
just unzip and drag&drop to you community folder - the scenery is not compatible with other Trento Caproni packages
no need for additionl libraries

Wow! frankly you really have talent for modeling and animations! I borrowed your bike, your drone and your opaque glass panels for the Saltworks, they are so beautiful! I hope you don't have to worry about that! good weak end to you Frédérico
I updated the downloads for your scenes in the description of Saint-gilles les Salines

No problem my friend, i'm proud to enrich your fantastic scenery! If you Need some standalone objects don't be afraid to ask!

It was a marvellous flight from Trento through the Alp-Valleys back home to Bavaria. Also installed your cable-car Addon and made nice screenshots near Meran. Flew over the Jaufenpass and Brennerautobahn and it reminded me back to some vacation memories.

Incredible detailed scenery, one of the best yet. I made a video, just highlighting just SOME of your great workmanship & detail. Too much scenery to include in just ONE video, Keep up the great work,,,https://youtu.be/N-E9qxFq3Kc

Pretty nice video, and you get so much of my scenery, Very entertaining watching and great piloting skills, choppers are still so much challenging to me!
Didnl you that right here in Trento there Is One of the most advacend maintenance facility for the Airbus Helicopters? And of course It has a Place in my scenery too 😅
smoothflyer 1 year(s) ago
Thanks, I did not see the facility, but I will look for it. I don't really like the Bell, as you can see, it seems to swerve up & down, no matter, how hard, I try to hold it steady, not sure if the company(payware), has put out a newer fix, for it. Anyway, I like to switch out copters, from time to time.

Non conosco il vostro gruppo, siete per caso quelli che partite alla sera in formazione da Trento? Ho avvistato spesso un quartetto di aerei mentre sviluppavo lo scenario, bel lieto di fare la vostra conoscenza 🙃

Its such a nice details, i hope to see more often in sceneries. Did you use special tools to cerate this little line ? Maybe sharing will animate others to include "local lines" meanwhile we have to wait for asobo.
mamu82 2 year(s) ago
Regarding trains, no special magic there:It Is Just a single animated 3d object i've made in Blender
Steps:
In Google earth or other mapping software i draw a Path along the railway
Then imported the Path into Blender
Create the base object with railway, pylon and cable and cloned via Array on the Path
Create the the trains model and animate them along the Path
This technique, apart the 3d modelling of the object (wich can take from no time to Forever) Is kind of fast and more or less reproducible, (One could Simply edit the Path and object Will follow according)
BUT, in the end, It Is Just a "simple" 3d object (a very Big One, Is like 2km long with a minute long animation, wich Is pretty CPU intensive)
It's not suitable for procedural placement (e.g. all over the world using OSM data or such)

Since today I get CTD when approaching LTDT from south or north or when selecting it.
Even with NO other scenery in the Community folder.
Stock version is working.
Any soon solution?

scenery is working nice even with latest update (and all patches)
Do you have for istance any other 3rd party add on installed? Maybe navigraph or other stuff? (like the AI boats pack? those killed my sim in trento area)
or other payware sceneries in one store folder?
Any aircraft?

Maybe tomorrow i can help you better

Basic animations (like rotation and translation) are very easy, Flying theston tutorial on YouTube Is PERFECT https://youtu.be/MIqc8liASCw
Bone animation (for windsock/flags/people etc) Is more triky, the Blender exporter doesn't work sell, i had to use 3ds for mine (go to fsdeveloper for details)

How to create the train animation and path are definetely worthwhile for a video tutorial on your youtube channel

Thanks Erasm, animation are of course in the tutorial pipeline !

Actually It Is not possible to create a PROPER starting point or parking like helipads (probably the Sim Is not yet ready for helicopters). For sure se Will able to add real helipads as soon as Asobo release choppers
Of course one can cheat and use a normal aircraft parking or a tiny runway, but this leads to some other problems (like ai aircraft spawning in helipad Area or aircraft related ai vehicles)
Anyway, i Will make some experiment and let you know if a compromise Is possible!
erasam 2 year(s) ago
I have solved the issue of having AI aircraft spawned at Heli parking making the parking spot really small (1 meter)
mamu82 2 year(s) ago
Will of course try that, a future upgrade Will be the Cles hospital helipad (It Is part of One of the rnp procedures)
