    CoolGunS Western Australia Airport Collection for FS2024

     

    V1.2   17/12/2025 - First update after SU4.

    V1.3   01/01/2026 - Completes all changes post SU4, and all individual downloads are also up to date.

    V1.4   21/03/2026 - Syncs all changes from any individual downloads that I have made lately into this collection.

    Note: if you were one of the first 10 downloaders of V1.4, please redownload it. I introduced some taxi lights on the GA Apron that were sticking out of the ground. This is fixed now.

     

    SU4    IMPORTANT NOTE

    Sim Update 4 has removed hundreds of streamed  objects from the FS2024 SDK, resulting in a lot of FS24 freeware on this website riddled with missing objects. Unless the authors have their own libraries included in their downloads, or embed all of their objects directly into their scenery (BIG downloads), you can safely bet FS24 scenery will be affected. I have posted the issue on the FSDevelopers Forum, but it is early days!

    Luckily, I spotted this early. This collection contains all of my Western Australia scenery fixed already, having substituted my missing content with suitable available replacements. Thank you Microsoft/Asobo for ruining my whole weekend.

    Hi, and welcome to my Western Australia  Airport Collection for FS2024. Within this download are all 17 of my payware quality airfield sceneries for Western Australia,  including all of the ones that have been featured and promoted from time to time by this site's administrators and 3rd party websites and youtube channels. This is a collection of mostly FIFO airports for our mining industry, which are well serviced by private carriers operating out of the capital, Perth.

    Plus a surprise, so read on.

    Like my New Zealand Airport Collection, they are all contained within one easy download for your convenience. The state of Western Australia drives the Australian economy, it is rich and huge - 17 sceneries does not do it justice. You can find many, many more by Bindook, who helped me get started exaclty 2 years ago. His work is also of high quaIity and I particularly recommend his Jandakot Airport (my local) which works just fine in FS2024. 

    Between the two of us Western Australia may very well be the most covered area in the MSFS world. So get downloading!

    So what is new for CoolGunS? What is his next mission for FS2024?

    Fear not because I do have a plan, and it is to build a GA route from Australia to Europe where we have family. Whenever I purchase new GA aircraft I like to virtually fly up to Poland to see them, but unfortunately the quality of airfields along the way is sadly very lacking, disappointing, and becomes a bit of a chore.

    So I am going to fix that. I will fill in that massive gap with airfields roughly 600nm apart. The good news is the first leg from Australia to Indonesia will be released this weekend withWATR DC Saudale airport. It can be easily reached from my Derby Airport and I plan to complete the entire route before SU5 is released, so the race is on.That equates to around 12-15 airfields covering 7500 nm, all payware quality built within about 4 months.Who will win? Microsoft or CoolGunS?  

    Challenge accepted! The route will be published into a seperate collection which will grow as the challenge progresses. 

    So, follow my work when I publish it, and enjoy this collection.

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Just unzip and drag and drop all 17 folders directly into your community folder or addons linker file structure. OVERWRITE  if prompted.

    MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL OF THE DEPENDANDIES LISTED!

    You will also need the UK2000 Common Library from the Market Place. Search for it and install it into the game. It is free.

     

    TIP:
    Don't forget to reload your Little Navmap scenery library now and then in order to keep your new airfields accurately portrayed within it. This way all your new taxiway designations are updated among other things.

    LNM automatically searches through your community folder during the process which runs in the background so you can keep simming. Make sure you have all of your addons active in your community folder whenever you do this.

    From the menu bar of LNM:  Scenery Library | Load Scenery Library | press Load. When finished, press Use Database.

    Thanks for answering. I use MSFS2024 v 1.7.27.0 (no Beta version) - all world updates are streamed and in latest version. I use your Australia Collection in latest version 1.4 - I have all required libraries installed and active. No other addon-sceneries active.My described problem is still there.     This screenshot is done in YARG. All other sceneries I mentioned below are showing same problems.

    I have loaded those airports to check them and I just can't fault them. Everynow and then Asobo do remove or rename object ID's, and I usually catch them early and replace them since I always check my scenery after a major update. Asobo have never removed base textures and the ones you are hilighting are still there and displaying. If the issue you are having was due to WU21 or SU5 then I would have noticed it myself and I would be inundated with users reporting it considering almost 200K downloads. I can only suggest you check again that everything is being streamed.

    For me, looking at your screenshots and hearing that many of my scenery is not displaying for you, SCREAMS to me that you have some disabled content in your library somewhere. I share most of the same textures across my scenery having hand picked them as being base textures that look great and would always display. Empty your scenery index folder, recreate your cache file etc. Try that basic troubleshooting or do the dreaded uninstall reinstall of the game and see how you go.

    Thank you for your detailed description and tips! I conducted a thorough investigation and found the culprit. It was an old MSFS2020 scenery, named "Wittenoom (YWIT) - Australia Secret Military Base" . After deleting this scenery, the "pink" problems in your scenery disappeared.

    Ensure all world updates are actually installed if using FS2020 or streamed if using FS02024

    Thank you for this great work! I'm afraid, since WU21/MSFS2020 many of your sceneries in this collection have pink colored areas in ground textures. These are: (Y) ARG, BCB, DSY, LEO, LTN, PKG, PPD, TEF, TRA. Could you please have a look into it?

    Are these airports still working in MSFS24?
    I downloaded them plus all the dependencies, but I don't see them on the map.
    In Content Manager I can see the Daveshiresmodellib_images and Davesmodellib_images are not installed, even though they a re in the Community folder.
    What am I doing wrong?

    They work perfectly. Just make sure you extracted them properly into the correct location, where-ever that is on your system. There should be 17 folders and a readme file. The Daves library is not important. I think it has one model in like two of the airports. Don't stress over that. The rest of the libraries are needed though.

    More on the missing objects:

    Not sure why MS has done this, perhaps streamlining things? Luckily it was mostly small objects such as wheelie bins, fences, signs, palm trees, fuel bowsers, vehicles etc. Lots of little stuff that I found. However, some buildings vanished. Some real nice ones. Check your other scenery carefully and advise the authors if you find stuff has gone.

    Hopefully MS discover that this has affected a lot of freeware out there and quietly put them back for streaming. In any case, this update sorts out my Western Australian stuff. My NZ collection is also fixed.

    In the meantime, my individual downloads will eventually be syncronised. Updloading 40+ updates will just annoy all of my followers. I know I would be.

    It has a built in, interactive, color coded smartmap which will contain all my airports and is completely free. Well, apart from YOUR own time to install it of course. Little Navmap also has a function to add airports as userpoints and color code them.

    The support I give all my followers is for everyone. This includes yourself. No problem at all. Any issues with my scenery, you just post here, and CoolGunS helps you to sort them out as I have just done now.

    However I do draw the line for those that have never donated even $5 for the 1000's of hours I put in offering up over 40 payware level airports, AND yet still think it is ok to ask for more goodies to make their life easier to manage them 0_o. I have already created collections to make downloading them a one-click operation for that very reason.

    I make free SCENERY. It is on you to manage your end and what you do with it.

    Hi - great work - I am slowly migrating to 24. Many of the libraries are not marked as 20 and 24, just 2020, so are they all still needed and ok in 2024 as far as you know?

    Hi, thanks for your donation! Yes all the libraries are required for both FS20 and FS24 and are compatable with both. Some libraries will contain both versions to choose from when you unzip them. Other libraries that just have one folder work just fine.

    I tested them all earlier in the year.
