The Airbus A340-300, registered as PZ-TCW, was a notable aircraft in the Surinam Airways fleet. Acquired to enhance the airline's long-haul capabilities, it primarily served the essential route between Paramaribo and Amsterdam, strengthening the connection between Suriname and the Netherlands.
The PZ-TCW was equipped to carry 24 passengers in business class and 251 in economy class. Its spacious cabin and advanced amenities provided a high level of comfort, making it a favorite among travelers for its smooth and reliable flights.
After several years of service, the PZ-TCW was retired in 2020 and replaced by the more efficient Boeing 777-200ER. Currently, Surinam Airways utilizes various chartered aircraft to continue serving its international routes. Despite its retirement, the PZ-TCW remains a symbol of Surinam Airways' era of growth and modernization.
