Did you ever want to cruise Manhattan Island, but the terrain failures just make it impossible? Here's a quickie solution.
- Step 1: Download the Manhattan Flatten mod.
- Step 2: Turn off photogrammetry. It's temporary and easy to put back. This will make the buildings look more realistic up close and allow you to actually drive on the streets. You'll probably even gain some FPS by doing this.
- Step 3: Load your favorite land-based vehicle and get after it.
- The entirety of Manhattan island will now be smooth and drivable from about 127th street all the way south to the southern-most tip.
- Works well with WombiiActual's Fire Truck, Electric Baggage Cart, Parallel 42's Juice Goose, and for a real kick, try the Jet Powered baggage cart. HolyMoly that thing can move!
This mod is made possible by telling MSFS that the entire island (from 127th south) is one elevation. Flat as a billiard table. So the downside is that it's not compatible with other mods that modify elevations on the island - such as my own HMB-10 and HMB-14. But chasing your buddies at extreme speeds in one of the most congested cities in the world is worth the effort.
