Jurby aerodrome has been created to commemorate the brave soldiers and pilots who served the Isle of Man faithfully throughout the second World War and beyond. It was opened in 1939 and stopped operation as an airport in 1963. Jurby airport is now used as a racing track and has been since 1985. It is also part of the Manx National Heritage.
Full permissions were granted to create this airport by the relevant Isle of Man department
