Originally destined for Aviance Argentina, this ATR72-600 A2-ABL (MSN:1437) was delivered to Air Botswana on the 21st of December 2018 after taking its first flight on the 19th of September 2017. It is the second ATR72-600 in Air Botswana's fleet. It is named "Makgadikgadi", after the largest salt pan in the world situated in the North-east of Botswana, close to the Okavango Delta.
Air Botswana Corporation is Botswana's state-owned national flag carrier, with its headquarters located in Gaborone.It operates scheduled domestic and regional flights from its main base at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport. It opeprates a purely regional fleet with two ATR72-600s and one Embraer ERJ-170.
