About this file

V1.5 - Added additional details to the terminal model and ACIJet models.  Added additional details around the field.  Finished all the fencing.

V1.4 - Added details to the cargo ramp, including the FEDEX and UPS buildings along with various cargo containers and loading equipment.  Also added lighting and walled areas.
Changed terminal lighting from cold to warm temperature.
Changed and adjusted fencing in various areas.
Fixed model and texture errors on the main terminal

V1.31 - Error fixes, including:
  • Color corrected various buildings
  • Tweaked locations of some fences
  • Corrected scaling issues in the blender models, resulting in late model loading in the sim (the model would not spawn until almost ontop of it).  Specifically, the center diamond area of the main terminal.  I went ahead of rescaled all of the models to 1:1 to ensure all scenery assets load at the same distance.
NOTE: I am aware of the uneven pavement at the end of RW20L.  I am not able to correct that at this time as it does not show up in developer mode.

V1.3 - Additional objects, including:
  • Added hand modeled main terminal and adjacent parking structures
  • Added lighting around terminal
  • Finished off last few feet of fencing
V1.2 - Added additional objects, including:
  • Hand modeled ACIJet FBO facility on the east apron
  • Added additional parked cars throughout the scenery
  • Completed all fencing around the airport up to about 200ft from the terminal
  • Added additional lighting
V1.1 - Added additional buildings, including:
  • Hand modeled Atlantic FBO facility
  • Hand modeled Lyon Air Museum
  • Hand modeled Martin Aviation/Leading Edge Avioinics facilities
V1.0 - Updated scenery package for John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana CA (heart of The OC), including:
  • Hand modeled airport fire station
  • Hand modeled control tower
  • Hand modeled GA parking stall cover/canopies
  • Hand modeled ACIJet FBO facility on the west apron
  • Placed some fences (more to come in future updates)
  • Replaced generic AI buildings with closely matching library buildings

Hi excellent airport really enjoy flying out of here. Two issues I noticed.

    1. The runway markings in the hold position before Runway 20R say "20 L". It should say "20 R".

    2. Using A32NX, when I start at the gate, the plane is parked at an angle and doesn't work well with jetways. I'm not sure if there is a way to control how airliners get parked on the gates.

Really appreciate all your fantastic work, I've downloaded many of your other airports also.

Glad to hear you're enjoying my sceneries.

    1) Yes, I have noticed that. Similar issues at KVNY. That said, it's a stock ground texture problem. I have not spent any time playing with revising ground textures. Not planning to in the near future.

    2) Yeah, parking spots at most airports in the sim are a hot mess. Unfortunately at this point, the SDK tool does not allow you to simply revise existing spots. Tou have to delete the airport definition and start from new. I did that with KLGB and it sucks. Even after I did that, the old spots are still there. So, once MS provides us SDK tools to edit them, I'm going to leave as is.

Finally a KSNA scenery. It's great! Just curious, does the developer package let you change the terminal lighting colors to the yellow/orange like it is in real life?

Yes... do you have a picture. I don't have any good reference of the terminal at night, so I just made the windows emit a gray color.

Sorry I meant the exterior lighting on the ramp outside the terminal buildings. This pic is older but it shows how the ramp lights are yellow/orange instead of white, not sure if that's a feature the developer mode lets you change. The interior is sort of a warm white.

I see... yes, there are a few choices in the SDK for exterior lights, including color temperature. I chose the high temp lights because I personally prefer them. Now seeing this pic, I'll change the over for the next update.

Thank you to provide update airport sceneries for SOCAL. It's much appreciated!

PS: you didn't touch the ground textures in this v1, right ? There's slightly too much 20L runway at this holding point :) -> and

Yeah, that's stock scenery. Not planning on updating any ground textures at this point.
