great plane, but a lack of sound in the cockpit.

Excellent work! I love this little plane!

Merci, c'est parfait pour la visite de villes!

Very nice little ultralight, I enjoyed it from the moment I got into it on a grass strip and flew some low and slow circuits. Can anyone ell me what that strange little stick next to the throttle is, or what It's used for? Couldn't find a manual for this plane so can't look it up.
I hope the sound is the next thing to be developed, it doesn't appear to be loud enough for an utralight, and doesn't sound like a Rotax. It's OK I can pretend I'm wearing Bose noise cancelling headphones but I'd like to hear something that relates more to ultralight experience.
At the risk of treading on toes, I did find the flight model a bit too slippery, so I tweaked the cfg files and to me it now feels a bit more like a draggy ultralight.
In the flight_model.cfg I changed a few values as follows:
[FLIGHT_TUNING]
cruise_lift_scalar =1
parasite_drag_scalar =2.3
induced_drag_scalar =1.4
flap_induced_drag_scalar =1.5
elevator_effectiveness =1.2
elevator_maxangle_scalar =0.75
aileron_effectiveness =1.1
It now washes off speed once the throttle is closed much more readily. I changed the power_scalar in the engines.cfg to 1.0 which gives a 65kts cruise with the throttle retarded a bit from full power, which I think is about right.
I'd appreciate any feedback on the se mods if anyone would like to try them!

Hi
Very good tip. I thought the same as you when I put power off and the plane simply didn't lose any altitude.
As a tube and fabric ultralight, this is not realistic (without any offense to the author, who made a fantastic job with this ultralight).
I adopted your configurations and it got better but still not draggy enought for me, so I changed the parasite drag to 3.5 and the engine scalar (engine.cfg) to 1.5. I also lowered the aileron effectiveness to 0.7 and increased rudder effectivenees to 1.5. For me it's almost there.
The engine stops every 3 minutes in the air and I dodn't guess why...
Any ideas?

This aircraft looks really nice. Is it VR compatible?

YEs I fly it in VR

A fantastic ultralight, great for sightseeing. 😊
I wonder, would it be possible to include a simple wings-level autopilot? Maybe with a click spot somewhere on the dash, or maybe the way user "Darshonaut" does it, via a hotkey.
nojwod 7 month(s) ago
Well that would be a bit silly in an ultralight like this I think

...And that would ruin an otherwise excellent aircraft.
JacopoDiPasta 7 month(s) ago
Why would that be the case? Sometimes you just want the plane to fly itself for a second while you look around. I fail to see how adding that simple option would "ruin" the plane, other than for snobbish reasons.

I love it!
Is there a way to read out fuel level sitting in the cockpit? (It is possible to read it out in extern view.)
RPM (extern view) does not match RPM (instrument panel).
What is the second operating lever (cockpit, left side) for?

Very nice , thanks for all

I love it, it's fun, it's cool, it's trippy.

TY! Great!

What did you need to do to make this su9 compatible? The old version is still running fine for me.

I just re-compiled the model files, sometime ASOBO change animation names and don't tell us developers so its always good to keep and eye on things because they can get broken when they do SU's

It's weak, think go-cart brakes
Jotace 11 month(s) ago
Friend found the problem, I'll leave you the feedback may be useful one day. It turns out that when the parkbrak is activated, the brakes are much weaker because the lever is not activated until the end. The solution is simple, just do not activate the parking brake.

This is an absolute blast, and I love the animated pull-start for the engine! It's perfect for lazy sightseeing, but it can also make otherwise mundane hops seem truly epic: I just flew it from Northern Ireland to the Isle of Man, and felt like I was Lindberg crossing the Atlantic.

Perfecto, buen avión.

Great light aircraft! Could you build a Quad City Challenger 2?

Thanks! that's the third request for that aircraft....

Thats brilliant, I'm learning to fly in a Thruster T600N in the real-world and this is the closest thingh I've found to it so far in the sim - although this seems to float much more than the Thruster which has the floating ability of a brick holding onto a particularly heavy lead weight. Loving this for sightseeing and I'm sure it will come in useful for practicing cross-country flights in VR as its about the same cruise speed. If you ever fancy modeling a Thruster let me know what you need.
