Update 0.9 is still a huge work in progress since I'm currently the only developer on this project! consider this a rough beta update as there are still many bugs and features to expect!
Updates:
- completely new exterior model
- high speed visual effects added
(vapour trailing, vortices, sonic boom, etc.)
- changed flight model
- main airbrake now works
- acceleration scales more realistically.
Known issues:
- flat textures
- cockpit uses old model and internals have broken interaction
- windshield icing doesn't work
- still using old gears and hatches
- Flaps behave automatically, similar to the F/A-18
- Engines can't be turned off when spawning in game with engines already turned on.
XFA-36A 0.9.1 Beta
Based on the General Resource XFA-36A super-maneuverable air superiority fighter from the game Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. The XFA-36A shown here looks very similar to it's original counterpart from Ace Combat but is not a 1:1 replica of the original plane. This model is made 100% from the ground up. NO assets from the original game were used in the process of making this. 'Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere' is property of BANDAI NAMCO

Little hotfix - plugged gaps at the extremities of the ailerons - added vector flaps mounting points - minor improvents on the canopy + windshield now has rain effects - added flame holders

I'm seriously considering to get started on an X-49 Night Raven, But I can't really get myself to fully commit for the same reason updates on the XFA-36A are so slow; I am the only individual working on this project, and in the past I had a short contract with a couple other devs helping out to get the cockpit working, but that contract was closed and so they went on to work on their own projects.

Great plane. Super fun to fly. Speeds up to 800ktas. Flew from LA to Vegas in about 20 min ! High speeds and high accelerations are the way to go !

Absolutely beautiful plane, but no longer fun to fly.
The old version had those crazy speeds, it made this aircraft something very special if you kept whatever it is right now but edited the acceleration and top speed it would have been my favorite mod, looking forward for an update.

Aircraft is showing all black now, for example i can no longer see the "Danger Jet Intake" and "Danger Jet Exhaust" markings anymore in this latest version.
And its way slower than it used to be :(

Sorry to say that is going to be very unlikely from my side if I continue struggle along making the XFA-36A here on my own.
