Hello

Another little addon manager. Made to match my own needs and just sharing with the community.

I tried to keep the UI very simple but it should hopefully do the job 'feature-wise'.

- lets you organize your addon freely in folder and subfolders in your folder of choice
- will create links in the community folder. There is no need to move files in and out of the folder.
- very easy to activate/deactivate groups of addons (single click)
- lets you save presets of addons
- lets you rename addons (link will be automatically updated)

Installation :
- just extract all the files and drop them in a folder of your choice and run the EXE file

usage :
- create a folder where you will put your addons, add your addons in there instead of putting them in the community folder, you can create as many subfolder as you want to organize your files efficiently
- launch the application, in the options screen set your 'addon folder' and your 'community folder'
- just click on the checkbox to activate/deactivate addons
- rest should be fairly easy to understand (little quickstart guide should be coming soon if needed)

notes :
- if it doesn't work please try to set the application to run as admin, if it works but you still get the message at the start, just disable the message in the options screen
-i was made aware that other tools seem to do pretty much the same things but probably with some differences (have not tested them though because i learned about them after mine was released last week), anyway each has probably its own advantage and it's just free and just for fun, so you can freely decide to use mine if you find it useful.

big thanks to the guys in the AVSIM forum that helped me testing the very first versions with feedback and ideas. I will now post it here exclusively making it easier to maintain for eventual updates.

Thank you

This might be the best AddOn tool for MSFS yet! I have a question: even when starting the tool in admin mode, all the "Title" in the MSFSAddon folder are marked as <cannot read the manifest.json file>. What could be the issue here?

hello lucamadeus, thank you very much for your comment. Those errors seem to indicate the file can not be read. Another user had the same problem after moving the files from his %appdata% folder probably because those folders have some specific permissions and when you move the folders those specific rights are kept. He then reinstalled the addons directly in the new folder and all was fine. Not sure if you have the same problem as him, but I will send you a little debug version via private msg that will create a little log file showing why the 'invalid json' appears (hopefully).

Hi Bad2000. DID YOU KNOW? You can cut official content (aircraft and sceneries) and move them to your package warehouse. They can then be turned on and off like the rest of the community content. In the MSFS content manager - any sceneries or aircraft moved in this way are simply available for download again (auto updated versions too). This allows for a truly minimal MSFS install - whilst keeping all your content (official or community) safe in the warehouse. I have run it this way for a week with no issues.

thank you for the feedback, no i didn't really try to do anything with the 'official' content yet, for now i'm a bit scared to go in there in touch stuff ;) but it's a nice thing to know. Thanks again for the input.

Great utility! I keep all my scenery on different drive. MSFS2020 loads much faster even with all scenery enabled. Thank you!

My compliments for this program in order to make a organised community file. I did everything by the youtube video , but I keep staying at the target : Flightsimulator start command. I installed MSFS via the 10 DVD and in a map : "MSFSPackages". There are 2 maps : community and Official/OneStore . I cannot find any flightsimulator.exe . I have to start MSFS via the main menu or via the MicrosoftStore . So I have no idea what start command I can use in "MSFS addon linker" Can you help me out ? Joop

hello, thank you for your comment. for the store/dvd version it's a bit different than steam, put this in the options screen and it should work --> shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App In the next version i have made that easier with some pre-choices, let me know if it didnt work, thank you

i will send you a link via private message to a test version where those settings have been changed so you will be able to test and see if it will work with the DVD version (unfortunately i can not test it myself because i have Steam)

thank you this is a great thing to have. Only two things that havent been working for some reason. If i have to many folders for some reason it doesnt find the liveries (community->Liveries->Airliner->A320 Liveries) so far so good.. but if i try to make more folders within the A320 Liveries folder and want to devide the liveries into european, asian liveries and so on it tells me invalid links.. Second and more important thing is, that it doeasnt work with the A32NX mod as it has more folders within the mod. maybe add a button where you can tell the programm that it needs to link the folder just as idea :)

hello, i will test the A32NX to see if there's something special about it. As for the 'the too many folders' there shouldn't be any kind of limitations (i will message you to get some more information soon). Thank you

Any plans on putting this on GitHub... some feature requests: 1. Allow the link name to be different than the addon directory name (for managing ordering), or 2. Provide some ordering structure (as I understand it, things are loaded alphabetically) and manage that.

hello, for point 1 yes i have already thought about that (i wrote something about 'renaming links' in the latest changelog in the todo list), i haven't started on that yet because it needs some reflexion on how to do it properly but yeah hopefully it will come soon. For point 2 yeah for now they are loaded like folders so by name, you can already do some basic sorting by clicking on the column headers but what you probably want is some sort of 'manual sequence' on each folder so that you can choose manually where you put them. I wrote that down in the list of ideas. Thank you.

Many thanks for your fantastic application! Is it possible to have more than one addon folder? For example: one on drive A and another on drive B and then link them both to the community folder?

I just wanted to thank you for a great program! It has taken the frustration out of keeping a 7GB and growing addon collection in my Community folder. Now it is possible to enable only the addons I currently want to use. It is so simple to make updates as addons change. My inventory consists of only smaller bush airstrips, mods, and large livery files. In the future it is only going to get larger, but now you have given us a solution and taken the stress out of it and made it manageable. Your program is going prove to be one of the most helpful tools given to the our flight sim community. Keep up the great work, it is appreciated.
