This package contains custom camera views for each aircraft that came with the Microsoft Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe. They offer wing and cabin views, many of them beyond the virtual cockpit movement restrictions.

Version 1.1 corrects the WT CJ4 views, and adds the views for FlyByWire A320 NEO.

The custom cameras have been defined as follows (with the num pad keys arrangement in mind):
Custom camera 0 and 7 - pilot view
Custom camera 9 - copilot
Custom camera 8 - panel view
Custom camera 4 - left wing or engine view in the middle of cabin
Custom camera 6 - right wing or engine view in the middle of cabin
Custom camera 5 - cabin view in the middle of cabin
Custom camera 1 - left wing view at the back of cabin
Custom camera 3 - right wing view at the back of cabin
Custom camera 2 - cabin view from the back of the cabin

Installation instructions:
!!WARNING!! These custom camera files need to be copied in the main MSFS location, not the Community folder. Proceed  only you feel comfortable with the following instructions:

  • locate the "Airplanes" folder in the main Microsoft Flight Simulator installation location. This folder contains sub-folders for each airplane for which you have already saved custom camera views. Inside each subfolder there is a CAMERAS.CFG file with the custom camera views for each airplane. If you haven't saved custom camera views, then the "Airplanes" folder might be empty, or not present.

For the Microsoft Store installation, the path is as follows:
C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\

For Steam installation the path is:
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\SimObjects

  • !!IMPORTANT!! make a backup of the "Airplanes" folder (see the jpg picture showing the folder location), in case you want to revert to your own saved camera views.
  • Unzip this package in a temporary location
  • copy the "Airplanes" folder into the "SimObjects" folder
  • launch the Microsoft Flight Simulator and make sure that you have assigned keys or buttons (on controllers) for the custom views. You do this in OPTIONS > CONTROLS.

Please read the Readme file included in the package.

Enjoy!

I can't get the views to work; I installed the Aircraft folder within the simobjects folder as outlined in your instructions:

    C:\Users\ssaju\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes

Yet when I try to toggle the views through the custom camera assignments set in Flight Simulator, they don't go to those views at all. What could I be doing wrong?

Hello wiredapple, have you tried different planes? If the problem happens on all the planes, then I'm thinking that maybe the path is incorrect (make sure that you don't have another "Airplanes" folder inside the "Airplanes" folder, but rather the folders for each plane), or the key assignments are incorrect. Does you keyboard have a numeric key pad, or are you using the numeric keys above the letter keys? Also if your keyboard is for another language, try switching it to English just for a test. Please let me know if this helped or not. You can PM me if you wish and we can continue the discussion there.

The AIRPLANES folder with the camera files is the only folder in there. I do have a numeric keypad which is what I've been using.

The assignment in the sim is for the custom cameras to be toggled with the ALT key + whatever number that corresponds to each view. I've tried all the planes but nothing happens.

Could you also add the project mega pack A321 and A330?

Hello, I will create a set of views for the PMP A321 and A330, but it will take a a few days. I'll let you know when they are ready for download.

Will your mod work for an airplane that I recently "converted from FSX" called the Gulfstream 550 ?
    • PropellerBC
      10 day(s) ago
No, unfortunately it won't work because this package contains camera views only for the aircrafts to which I had access.

Now that the FlyByWire group made their a32nx mod a different plane altoghether, will there be an update to have the custom views on their version of the a320 as well?
Or would it be possible to copy the files from the original a320 to the fbw a320?

Hello, I will come up with an update soon.
In the mean time you can create a new folder inside the "Airplanes" folder (see path in the description) called "FlyByWire_A320_NEO", and copy the "CAMERAS.CFG form "Asobo_A320_NEO" to this new "FlyByWire_A320_NEO" folder.

Just downloaded the mod, but already have a Airplanes folder in Sim Objects. Cannot make a copy of that folder, get a message 'Your organization does not allow you to place the file here'. Can't even place it on the desktop.

Please try logging in as an administrator and see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't, then please do a google search for the message that you received, I'm sure you'll get some suggestions.
Additional question: Are the security settings managed by an IT department?(usually this would be the case for a work computer)

    can you do the crj700
    • PropellerBC
      28 day(s) ago
Hello Merikoo7, I don't own the CRJ so I can't do the camera views for it.
However, all you need to do is assign keys in Options/Camera to save the views (see my key assignments in the screen shots) and move the view point from the cockpit to the positions inside the cabin (next to windows) and save those positions with the same pattern as my other views (see in the mod descriptions). Give it a try, you might be able to save the views as you desire.

Hi, are these changes added to the default views or do they replace them?

    thank you
    • PropellerBC
      1 month(s) ago
Hello Dani, there are no default saved (or custom) camera views. If you didn't save your own camera views, then the custom camera views in this mod will be added. If you have saved camera views of your own, this mod will replace them. If you have saved your own camera views then please make a backup of the "Airplanes" folder in the SimObjects folder (please see the path in the description above), in case you want to revert to your own saved views.

Thanks a lot, @PropellerBC, your Mod is a MUST, and I think there is a lot of work in it.
I have a doubt, looked at previous comments but I think nobody ask this. Could it be possible to change the way one view switchs to another? I mean, the default cameras just change from A to B, but your cameras do something like a travel, a mouvement from A to B.
In FSX and P3D I used EzCam and there were a way to change this effect, I wonder if in MSFS there is some parameter in the changes that affects to this.
Again, thanks a million and best regards,
    Felix FdC

Thank you very much for your kind words, Felix.
I'm not aware of any way to change how the transition happens from one saved camera view to another.

I don't have an Airplane folder, then where does it get installed? Your instructions don't mention anything about that.. Just "you may not have an Airplane folder". Where does it go then? It used to work for me...did a reinstall of the sim and now no luck

Hello, my mod contains an "Airplanes" folder that has all the camera views for each aircraft. All you need to do is copy the "airplanes" folder from my mod to the "SimObjects" folder in your sim (please see the path in the notes above, depending on your sim installation type). I hope my explanations help.
