    About this addon

Welcome to the South California's hot spot for both commercial and general aviation operations. One of the most history-rich in the US aviation, Long Beach airport is a hub well suited either to an everyday Southwest Airlines commecial link to one of the over 20 national destinations, ranging from Las Vegas and Denver to Honolulu, Dallas, and Chicago or a general aviation and business jet flying.

Located just a few miles south from downtown Long Angeles, it serves as a hub for both commercial and general aviation. Known for its streamlined Art Deco terminal and relaxed atmosphere, the airport offers travelers a less crowded alternative to nearby Los Angeles International Airport. With a mix of domestic flights, private aviation services, and a rich aviation heritage—including ties to Douglas Aircraft—it remains an important gateway for the region while retaining its unique laid-back charm.

Four main sections across the field has been designed for MSFS20/24 in high detail:

    • Main terminal area including the old terminal.
    • ATC tower and surrounding AeroPlex buildings and hangars complex together with the brand-new Sky Harbour Hangar still under construction.
    • Flying schools buildings area along the southwestern end.
    • Relativity complex area with the surrounding others.

    Features:

    • Most up-to-date layout: old globemaster manufacturing hangars now reflecting the new Relativity lay-out, color, and architexture.
    • Animated vehicles across the apron and landside: airport patrol, police and utility trucks animated on their real-life like routes
    • Custom runway markings and taxiway signs and wigwags: all three runways custom-created with realistic markings, together with custom modelled and textured taxiway signs and wigwags at runway entries.
    • 3D-modelling with PBR textures: true-to-life modelling of all buildings in the main four layout sections with materials having PBR textures with detail, wear, and reflections.
    • Custom modeled and textured ground equipment: custom Southwest Airlines baggage cart, tractors and ramps.
    • The four underpasses modelled and textured: underpasses beneath RWY30 modelled and texure for a more immersive take-off and landing experience.
    • Dynamic lighting: real-life lighting positions all across aprons, parking lots, streets, and buildings over the airports layout and surroundings.

I'll give this a 5 star rating. I was initially somewhat unsatisfied with this scenery, but the version 1.03 update looks much better. The externals for the terminal and parking garage area are very well done. Runways and taxiways are very good, also night lighting is very good. I have compared this scenery with the airport in Google Earth 3D view, the scenery is very accurate. It is a great value for the price. My one suggestion is, the GA parking on the south side/west end of Rwy 8L, maybe improve that area, remove the blocky photogrammetry trees in favor of realistic trees, remove some of the static planes in that area, and add some GA parking, would be nice to load a small GA plane in that section.

Very Disappointing package. Most of the airport buildings look like generic assets, not custom modeled to match the real world. No building interiors. Tower interior not modeled. All of the adjacent buildings, trees, scenery are low-quality photogrammetry. There are lots of monolithic trees and bushes everywhere. The Maverick Helicopters Building on the SW corner is missing. There's no signage on the SW buildings. All building textures are very plain / simplistic (Don't look real at all - not PBR) There's a large building in front of the tower that doesn't exist IRL. Only the area on the east side near the main terminal is modeled in significant detail. Taxiway textures are wrong material (Concrete vs. Asphalt) Taxiway markings are very limited. Runway textures are wrong material (Concrete vs. Asphalt) Runway 12/30 have no markings/labeling at all, contrary to the photos shown in the listing. Runway 8L/26R is marked but not labeled. Runway 8R is not labeled. The airport in the sim looks very different from the listing photos. I took several photos of the airport in the sim, replicating several of the listing photos. There are clearly numerous textures missing in the released package. In my opinion, in almost all cases except for the legacy Boeing plant, the free version by FreakyD looks better and much more realistic, and its only 191 MB. At 4 GB install, it's a really big package. This is marginally better than generic Asobo or freeware.

Hi HenkerHaus, Thanks for the feedback on my KLGB - Long Beach Airport scenery. Sorry to hear your disappointment. With all due respect for the rest of your comment reflecting your personal thoughts, this following part of it sadly does not reflect the truth, which is easily seen in my screenshots and trailer video: "Most of the airport buildings are generic assets, not custom modeled to match the real world" when in fact all of my buildings, totaling over 60, are 100 percent custom modeled across the four main sections of the airport throughout the entire airport area, from new terminal to old terminal, to multi-story parking garages, from Relativity complex to all of the surrounding buildings including Atlantic presmises and FireStation to AeroPlex area and flying schools, even the SkyHarbour Hangar still under construction has been custom modeled. Might it be that you meant to write "Most of the airport buildings LOOK LIKE generic assets, not LIKE custom modeled to match the real world", instead? Then it would make sense reflecting one's thoughts not misleading the truth that my screenshots and trailer already prove. Thank you. In the first place, the screenshots on the product page belong to MFS2020 version. You must be seeing exactly the same visuals with models and textures depending on your edition of MSFS, all custom modelled and PBR (looking at the reflections with proper sunlight directed, you can easily discern their PBR properties, at least). When it comes to the hangar you claim that does not exist in real-life, I'm sending hereby two links to the airport's official facebook page images publicly shared, just recently: You can easily locate the SkyHarbour hangar in front of the tower in those both real-life photos: May 2026: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1441591994667340&set=a.543353561157859 June 2026: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1491483049678234&set=a.543353561157859 Also sending an MSFS2024 image of my KLGB airport's runway layout with runway markings in an imgur link below, depicting the concrete specific areas of the airport, as well: https://imgur.com/a/OAPJQkf Thanks so much again for your feedback. I'll be pushing the Maverick Helicopter building modelled at the edge of the SW side in the next update.
