Community Creator pazzini256 introduced a new modification that brings the functionality of the Default (Asobo) A320 Neo Weather Radar to the FBW A320 Neo (Development Version). This mod offers an opportunity to experience enhanced weather radar capabilities within the FlyByWire A320 Neo. To enjoy the benefits of the [A32NX] Weather Radar Mod, place the "flybywire-wxradar-a320-neo-dev" folder into your Community folder. To activate the weather radar within the FBW A320 Neo (Development Version), locate the WX Radar panel in the cockpit, then flip the SYS switch to the 1 or 2 position.

SYS 1 activates the WX radar on the captain's side.
SYS 2 activates the WX radar on the first officer's side.

By incorporating the Default A320 Neo Weather Radar functionality into the FlyByWire A320 Neo, this mod allows you to take advantage of advanced weather radar features. Download now for free.

Please be aware, that this mod overwrites our custom made ND. It is very likely that it causes problems with the rest of the custom made avionics and FMS.

We would, if we had access to the according data in MSFS.See here:

We dont need a Weather Radar that is 100% replicated from its real life version.... the Asobo works fine as long as we want to see what's the weather like ahead of us .... and yes it doesnt calculates vertically.... but i dont care for... i see if i fly inside a cloud or not... its they are below ... fine, if they are above ... i know if there is some precip ... and as long as lightning is not working inside msfs2020.... the best radar wouldnt help :) ... but the asobo show very exactly the location of precip around the plane, very precisly. Dont forget... you had it implemented and worked fine ... but for any higher reason or the seek for 1000% you made it inop.

I agree. It is better to have something that is not perfect but at least exists than nothing. The API for accessing the METEO data is not palnned and will probably never came. This is for legal reason with the farework contract with Meteo Blue.

at FSExpo they said that basically they don't even know how to get that data to make it accessible for others so yeah, we will probably never get that until FS2024

we just want a weather radar i don't care about a super realistic thing i want to see the cells nothing more and you are a pain not to include it

Im afraid even in msfs2024 there wont be a real world api ..... why is there such extremly high demands to such an api ..... back in the days before 2020 (P3D, FSX) no one had such demand ... those weather radars also worked fine and were not sorted out ;)

Oh, I misspoke there probably. I meant that Asobo will implement their on Weather Radar closer to reality than in FS20. At least that's how it came across at FS Expo.

It's not just about the weather data though. The map projection is different to an airliner ND and the sim provides no possibility to change this; the further you get from the equator the more the precipitation will be incorrectly positioned relative to the rest of the ND map content. At higher latitudes and enroute ND ranges it will be a long way off. If you want to visualize the difference in projections, jump in one of the default aircraft, like the 787, and plan a long leg at high latitude. View that with a high ND range and see the big curve in the leg; imagine if it was instead drawn as a straight line with the initial bearing and that's the difference in the projections.

im just curious what keeps the team from FBW to use to old weatherradar, until they find something new... its such a shame now im totally loving the A320N, so far such an awesome project guys!
