Do we really need 3 different pricing tiers for a flight sim UI/menu mod? Actual dystopian shenaniganery... Parallel 42 makes some decent stuff but pricing strategy on their msfs projects so far has somehow managed to embrace all of the worst aspects of the past and the emerging market. What's next, should I be thankful that it's not a tiered subscription yet, hm?

The boomer and pseudoboomer communities, that seem to be so active in flight simulators, were raised to be narcissists and "individualists" and cannot fathom any uses or value-adds for any possible service/product/idea that doesn't directly benefit them personally. It's astounding how critical so many old dudes are of painstakingly and thoughtfully created mods and add-ons.
They worked in a cubicle for 40 years and still feel they have the authority to tear down some developer who is, IMHO, performing magical feats.
Anyway..

So this is like CHASE PLANE but a more modernised version, with a bunch of cool nifty useful cool features. Features that you might not neccessarly use straight away, but some that you might say ''hey, this comes in handy sometimes''. I like this!

the preview video looked great, and watching streamers use previews of it looks even better. There will be some amazing mods built on it, and it is already a great UI that also replaces the MSFS toolbar

As a tail-end "boomer" who has worked in UK public service all my life, not in a cubicle, and opposed the individualism promoted and embedded by Margaret "There is no such thing as society" Thatcher, I am astounded by how spectacularly uninformed and offensive your comment is. Unlike you I suspect, I can remember sending data using punch cards and a telephone phone line with a screeching tone. Like many others, I fully appreciate the technical leaps achieved by MS, Asobo and their third party developer partners, freeware and payware.
Two other things. One, using "Anyway.." as the pay-off at the end of your post is a really poor way of dropping a comment and then being expected to be allowed to move on. Two, for future reference, the use of ellipsis requires three full stops not two...

That's not what I'm saying or even implying at all! Again we're specifically talking about THREE pricing tiers for a UI addon, the middle tier of which is named "Essentials" - and sorry but when has that ever not been a massive red flag with literally any product of any kind? Let the whales (we volunteer, by barely even feeling it) pay a bit more to keep it all simple and honest when attempting to drive growth. I'd rather they spend their time innovating in their area of expertise instead of in the area of marketing psychology. This is a far more nuanced topic than either of our quick comments really reflect, and honestly my mind could be changed, but the only way I can see it working out in this particular case is either if the free tier offers a good amount of functionality from the other two tiers or if the price of the "essentials" tier was, well, essentially free (like literally $5 tops); and unfortunately now having seen the details of each tier, that's clearly not the case and the free tier is exactly the sick joke I was afraid it would be. Again I like the actual content //42 has been making and I'm perfectly happy to pay for it as well as subsidize those who aren't, but some of their decisions like this one or the way they initially priced the Campout utility leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Man, this add on looks like an absolute GAME CHANGER for MSFS 2020. Will there be more details about all of the differences between the Essentials and Pro version (like a side by side listing of features)? I'll never code in JavaScript, but I do want the custom panels (especially the cameras) that replace the kludgy MS ones. Do I need the Pro version for this? Also, I know its the holidays and the end of the year, but any ETA on when this add on can be purchased in the MSFS Marketplace? Thanks again to the hard working and creative geniuses at Flightsim.to!

Free and paid should probably be the only two tiers. Use it in a limited way then buy it if you find it useful and need more. But $30 (AUS) is a too much for a menu add-on. A lot of stuff in the sim world is over priced (looking at you Spad Next) and a lot of folks seem to be ok with that, I'm not. I have Skypark from these guys and it's fine but ultimately hollow and intrusive and now deleted, and it wasn't worth $45 (AUS).

I think exactly the same... The good point is that it improves the design of the toolbar (//42 is very strong for design). Of course Flow adds a lot of new things but useless for me andI have to say that having shortcuts to start engine, swith autopilot, active lights... ruins immersion. The goal of a simulation game is to interact with cockpit, no just click shortcuts... With Flow, welcome to MSFA (MicroSoft Flight Arcade) (This is my opinion...). Waiting for Skypark V3...

I also bought Skypark, and uninstalled it a long time ago. It's fine for what it is, but wasn't worth the amount it cost.
