STORM for Microsoft Flight Simulator adds historic hurricanes, superstorms and a diverse range of global storm presets that will give you the most thrilling challenge yet.
Take flight anywhere in the world and go in search of these natural disasters. Historic hurricanes are based on real-world data, whilst fictional storms are designed to test your skills in unique conditions.
A huge number of fully voiced action missions are also included with STORM. You will go in search of hurricanes, collect geological data and transport vital equipment all whilst trying to avoid any emergency situations.
If action missions are too fast paced for you, take a more educational approach with the included airliner routes. Your co-pilot will give you all the information you need to know about the hurricane you’re about to fly over.
In a first for Microsoft Flight Simulator, STORM includes an interactive manual. A full audio tour written by a Geography and Natural Hazards Specialist is also included, this tour will teach you about hurricanes, their formation, and the destruction they cause.

i LOVE this addon! i like flying over the hurricanes with the darkstar, they look so cool but i do have a few questions and suggestions do they show up on weather radar in the planes? what will the next update be? why is my plane still affected by turbulence, even though i'm way above the hurricane (in the darkstar i'm about 275,000 feet) and more than 100 nm away from the hurricane? i get about 100 knot winds SUGGESTIONS make the hurricanes rotate, i actually don't know if they rotate or not because i mostly fly mach 10 above them make the hurricanes move across the ocean and eventually strike land, would be cool to see that (would it cause lag?)
Thank you for the valuable and constructive feedback! The hurricanes should show up on WX radars if there is precipitation (as per real-world devices) and if it's in line with the default simulator. Next update is planned in August following the release of SIm Update 10. We are looking at adding (back) in superstorm, typhoons, cyclones and more missions. Still subject to change but that's our plan. That's a bug and we'll patch that shortly with a minor update. Suggestions: That would be COOL! If MS expands the SDK to include more variables, then we will. This goes for both them moving and spinning :)

I have been trying this mod out and being optimistic about it after reading the reviews. I understand that this is a stationary static weather scenario and NOT live weather. I have my graphics set on ultimate everything as my computer is a high end rig. I have tried a couple hurricanes like Irma which is located down in the Caribbean. It never showed up on my radar in four different aircraft. I flew over Katrina in Cancun in the F16 and it showed up on radar but the bands were very broken and vague on my radar. I submitted screenshots but apparently it takes 24hrs. and must be approved first before being uploaded as proof of what I am seeing. I had messaged my friends about this mod and we were all excited about getting it. I have just messaged my friends WARNING them NOT to get it! I don't know what is going on but I had to uninstall the mod because i have had 5-6 CTD's. I am very disappointed in this product and do not recommend it currently. I would like to know how to contact the developer if that's possible in case of an error on my part. Thank you, Green Ranger
Could you explain when you had the CTDs? We haven't had any support tickets about CTDs which would help us to tackle any issues.

I give this a half star. One of the worst addons ever. I have purchased this and was disappointed.

I made a video review and got attacked for my review so I deleted it. There are a lot of issues. Buy it and find out, or take my word and save $13
I checked out the add on and have to say, I LOVE IT! Exactly what I was expecting, the bad reviews seem like unnecessary hate as most that decide to buy should've been well aware of what they were getting. I highly doubt dude did a video review and removed due to hate if the support we see here is any indication of what others feel. Why would they? Anyways, GREAT JOB SoFly, keep it up...I personally love this kind of stuff as I still had hurricane weathers saved from a year ago that had stopped working properly. Thank You Guys, and to anyone on the fence please at least try it yourself or watch a review from someone thats at least neutral. IMO it's an awesome add on that adds Fictional weathers, just like the Description says. I think some folks didn't understand the FICTIONAL part 🤷♂️
