Works with 1.12.13.0
v1.1 Release Notes:
-Corrected issue caused by texture shifting on the Asobo 747 model when zooming all the way out while using the external camera. Previously the "S" at the end of United Airlines disappeared. This no longer happens.
United Airlines 1993-2004 "Battleship Grey" livery.
I haven't been able to find this livery anywhere for the 747, and it's always been my favorite, so I decided to make it.
Known issues:
-Mirroring - not something I can fix due to the UV map that Asobo has chosen to use for this aircraft. There is a small area on the lower part of the fuselage where text is not mirrored, but this is not where any of the text goes on the real plane.
-Forward cargo door is upside-down. To my knowledge, this is not something that can be fixed. Fellow creators, if you know different, please share!
If you prefer a version without text mirroring, that can be found here: https://flightsim.to/file/6824/boeing-747-8-united-battleship-grey-no-text-mirroring
Enjoy!

Favorite Airline! I've been looking all over for a United New livery scheme for the 747. Great work on the Battleship! could you do a United new livery with the blue as the highlight? Greatly appreciated if you can!

Very nice work! I've been wishing for the battleship style to show up on the 747 as well, so you made my day. Thank you! A question as far as the mirrored text issue... Despite being an expert at dragging and dropping into my community folder, I know nothing about the actual creation of the livery. I assume there is some kind of layered photoshop file where you add the individual liveries on a template in the shape of the airplane model. Does Asobo's default skins have the same type of file? They have the default livery, test pilot, and aviator club and there are no mirroring issues. Would examining the graphics Asobo uses help to overcome the problem? Might be a silly question, but I thought I would try.

1. 747_8I_AIRFRAME_FUSELAGE_ALBD.PNG.DDS is the main texture layer that governs what is displayed on the fuselage. It incorporates several sections of the aircraft, but the one that corresponds to the upper, middle, and part of the bottom of the fuselage is in the upper left quadrant. It shows a one-dimensional representation of one side of the aircraft (the port side) and everything placed there is mirrored on the other side of the aircraft.
Here is a photo showing what the file looks like and how the different sections are stitched together by the game to create the fuselage you see on the plane: https://imgur.com/a/BdxVTRK
2. 747_8I_AIRFRAME_LIVERY_ALBD.PNG.DDS is the "decals" layer. This sits over top of the FUSELAGE layer and does contain 2 small areas that will display non-mirrored content on the plane. When looking at the default 747 livery, notice that the Boeing text, Logo, and "747" logo (all in that lower portion of the forward fuselage and on part of the vertical stabilizer) are not mirrored. That is because all of these elements reside in one of those small areas on the decals layer. Additionally, on the aft portion of the fuselage where the text "Intercontinental" is displayed, note that this is not mirrored either. These are the only two spots on the decals layer (and therefore the entire 747 model) where content will be displayed non-mirrored on both sides of the plane.
