| This mod ( formerly the "no fbw mod" ) retunes the flight controls and aerodynamics in the DC Designs F-14A & F-14B to create a more authentic flight experience, while also adding a few Q.O.L. changes.
F-14 Tomcat Improvement Mod
*Description*
The F14 Tomcat is one of the most well known military planes in the world. The DC designs version however is a bit lackluster, as it has issues in its controls, its engines and its general flight characteristics. So I decided to try and make it something I would fly more, by updating the flight model and aircraft handling with some NATOPS data. The intent is to simply make the Tomcat feel like it should and improve its flight dynamics. It is by no means perfect, as I am no expert. However the aircraft now flies extremely naturally and feels very much like the Tomcat should.
*Features*
Improved flight dynamics - All changes based on NATOPS data. No more 9G shenanigans
Enables weapons for MS store versions - Now you can load out your airplane with full pylons and hardpoints
Permanently removes interior Pilot and Mask - No more janky pilot model getting in the way while using the interior views.
Adds Two additional variants to chose from ;
A+ variant - Initial "testbed" A model airframe with the F110 engines prior to the full B class redesignation and complete upgrade package. This model retains the glove vanes for 7+G manouvers at mach speeds.
D variant - The updated flight model combined with the Tomcats default fly by wire controls. Intended for the fbw system to be tuned properly at a later date.

Compatible with both 3rd party and MS store versions of the aircraft.

Extract the mod and place in your community folder, same as any other mod

The OLEO kneel function is a WASM module, which is not something I am comfortable editing. Personally I dont use it.

Looks like this mod might now be defunct, as DC seem to have disabled FBW as standard with its recent update. Currently checking changes and testing. Sorry for the inconvienence, I only just got the update today.

So Initial testing reveals - Stock airplane is still wonky (11G turns lol!). Mod shall continue as "improvement" to replace FBW.

The rails are part of the aircraft, they do not come off. If you mean the weapons themselves yes I can show them, but it may cause problems later on if the devs object.
