The Country of Lebanon started operating after the second world war (late 1940s), the companies had deHavilland Rapides, Avro-Yorks, Languedocs and some converted C-47s (DC-3s). Air Liban pronounced in French and meaning Air Lebanon was known by it's Phoenician Winged Bireme as inspired by Air France's Sea Horse. The five ribbed wings bearing the green color spanned across the fuselage and later was replaced by a green strip on all their DC-3's, DC-4's and DC-6's.
Here we have OD-ABQ with the green strip livery that served Air Liban until it merged with Middle East Airlines.
A personal touch has been added for the significance of the this company to my late father's evolution in the aviation industry as he has flown this very airplane from the day it was acquired till he left the company. Enjoy your stroll to the back as your co-pilot handles her during cruise.
Thank you for this beauty - looking forward to flying her out of Beirut. Speaking of - any chance we'll be seeing your awesome OLBA from X-Plane in MSFS anytime soon? 😊
