Here's the A320 painted in the second of 2 America West Airlines company liveries prior to merging with US Air in 2005. America West began operations in 1983, based out out Phoenix Arizona and had a number of flights daily to destinations across the United States.

    Hi, I have been working (slowly) on this one for a couple of requests on the request sections. Rather than duplicating, would you like to tag those as completed - also you will need to do the US Airways and American version of this livery for one of them... though you have already done the main livery. Nice to see it complete o7

    Interesting... I never even noticed the requests section. I've just been doing liveries I personally enjoy for myself, when I'm bored and/or the sim is broken. Sorry if I stepped on your work. Unfortunately, I don't see any way to mark it as complete since you've taken it on.

    I will take a look. Its no worries - I had got the engines and body done but not the tail and details. Yours looks great. I would do the other two though - may as well make a pack of it (its just a logo change I think). I will have a look to see if its possible to take it on (just want it ticked to be fair)

    OK.. Hope you don't mind; its kudos for you and also gets the liveries marked as done (there is no point in duplicating liveries... especially when they are really well done:-)

    So... if you go to 'requests' and then search for 'America West' - they are all liveries you have done. Click on the 'I will create this' button and set a date (works with the ones I tagged too). Then click the three dots to complete - you just link a file and close it. If you get any problems send me a message. All the best

    The US Airways is just a logo change, the AA one requires their silver mica paint I believe, it's a reflective metal flake paint and my attempts at getting that effect looking good in the sim have thus far proved futile. I could make a pack of it I guess though.

    I did mark the 80s AW liveries as one but I can't mark the 90s one since you're on it. I don't think you can mark it done and link to my version either.

    I will take a look, though I think there is an American with just the logo changed - mind you, they didn't ask for all of the neccessarily so if its a big change I would mark it done with the caveat that they can request the other... I always get put off when there are lots of variants but, as you have proven, it is a pretty cool design. Cheers for doing it...

    Just checked - the image they have provided of American is just a logo change - can't see any metal flake (and, for what it's worth, I was only planning to do a logo change).

    Actually, America West took over US Airways. As a low cost carrier, they took the US Airways name because" America West had less airplanes to repaint".

    Awesome Livery! Any chance you would be able to remove the red and gray markings from the apu area of the plane on this livery and the AWA old livery you did? These are test decals that are not on the plane after delivery to the airlines.

    I have been waiting for this livery since I saw you released their older livery. Keep up the great work!

    Interesting... they're part of the original livery so I just left them on. I'll remove them from all my liveries over the coming week or two. Thanks for pointing this out!

    Well the gray zig zag lines are a part of the livery. If you look at the back just under the rear horizontal stabilizers, you will see 3 red lines on each side of the plane. Those red lines on the rear pass through what kind of looks like an outline of a crooked rectangle. Those are the 2 things that were not present on the real livery. I believe you can find those markings under the fuselage decals textures.

    For sure... when I said original livery I meant the default A320 livery from the sim.

    Ah gotcha! My only other request is, would you be able to add the reg number into the texture. The real plane has it just under the rear windows in orange. You could use N620AW as that was a reg number for one of their actual planes. Sorry for all of the requests! You can ignore me whenever you want... haha

    Yeah, I know the reg is different but I prefer not to bake reg numbers generally. Getting the font right is a crapshoot and then people who want to fly with their own fake reg number (yeah, not so real but I do this) in the sim don't get one. I'm willing to be convinced if you really want to lobby for it, but for now I'll leave this while I fly again for a bit. The FBW autopilot fix is out so I don't need to do repaints to occupy the aviation obsessed portion of my brain.

    You know, as long as the color is close enough, it would be fine with me. Also, you could just leave this one alone, and just create a separate texture with it baked in as well. People would have two options.

    Flightsim.to just made some changes to allow multiple uploads per livery so it makes more sense to include a couple versions now. I'm probably going to add the US Air one now also, thanks to this update.
