Howland Island airport HWPA. This now decommissioned airport was once a fertilizer farm due to the large number of sea birds. It was also the last airport that Amelia Earhart was to stop and refuel at before flying to Hawaii, then California to finish her tour around the globe. 2022 is the 85th anniversary of her fateful flight.
The island contains a light house, which does exist. The light house never hard a working light as far as I could tell. Additionally there were 2 or 3 buildings on the island. They didn't look anything like the generic buildings in this scenery. The runway length and locations were researched and are as close to actual as I could make them. The Electra 10E is able to land on all the runways as was intended. The shortest east/west runway is a nail biter. Likely the Electra was intended to only take off of the north south runway when fully laden with fuel.

Just because Earhart couldn't pick up the frequency - likely because she was never in range or had other radio issues doesn't mean that we shouldn't be able to. Even with a signal set at a pretty good distance, it's difficult to find the island...at least it was in my FSX version.

Nice polygons lol. Not much there to work with, is there? Maybe the most boring place on the planet.
