I wonder why you are adding ficticious airports to your project. This airport project was cancelled in 2019 because the island population was against it. In my opinion, you should just add real airports on your scenery pack.

All real world airports have already been added, there are just the remaining 2 "under construction" airports that are left.

I see, I guess that's it for me then. I'm not installing non-existing airports. Thanks for all your work om the other airports, amazing stuff.

Now knowing that the plan was cancelled (I know almost nothing about the Maldives to be honest) I may remove it from the mega-pack, but of course leave it here by itself (with a link in the pack for additional changes)

I agree. Even it is "just" simulation - we should respect decisions of people too and take the boat or ferry. It's not a good idea to destroy nature reservates in advance -even not in FS...sad enough that it is happened in real live. I don't think that 0235 had bad intentions - we just should think of that before (in my opinion).

My main thought was that there are runways that did go ahead, that still don't show on Bing or google, so i assumed that this was also one of those runways that simply didn't show on any satellite data.

ok, like many airports, I understand. I just wondering before that there are so small Maledivian islands having a concrete runway. Did you compare that with real photographs? I thought (like in FS2004) that there should be more water landing airports? But maybe there is changed a lot in the last years in real live?!

It is difficult to find out what islands have seaplane ports and which don't (as you can pretty much land a seaplane on any island). That may be the next project, but i would first need to figure out how to add seaplane runways :) I have a feeling that the current president of the Maldives decided to push for a lot more hard surface runways. Rich people don't like flying to an airport, to get on another medium sized plane, to then transfer to a 12 seat sea plane, and then end up on a boat. You can get more money flying routes directly to the island people want to visit (and you can't land a private jet on a dirt runway either!) There are some places (VRMD - Dharavandhoo I think) that used to have a dirt strip, but it got upgraded to asphalt.

But you make island hopping possible, before there was nearly nothing. I just miss same sea base airports scenery with boats, piers etc. :-) Would be nice if someone (or you) have time for that. I also miss the real aircrafts which serve the islands in real live. Maybe you can also put some sailing boads and pleasurecrafts , ferries etc in the vicinity of islands so that it makes it a little more alive?

Thanks for the comments :) I am slowly planning on adding the seaplane bases. The user "frkristi" has created some amazing piers that I may use. However there are 80 Islands that the "Trans maldivian airways" services, and from what I have looked at most of those islands look terrible in MSFS2020. Its taken me this long to add 16 airports, 80 is going to be quite the task :)
