Poolburn Airstrips, for MSFS
Real place with a fictitious ICAO code NZ53
Version 1.1
--Description--
Poolburn is a little town in Otago, South Island, New Zealand. In the area, on top of a rocky plateau lies the Poolburn Reservoir.
In this landscape were shots several scenes of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, in particular in "The Two Towers" to figure the Rohan.
Poolburn Reservoir is famous as a fishing place, remote and very quiet. Up there, several small airstrips exist and can be used to visit the place or reach your favorite fishing cabin.

--The scene--
The scene is a complete creation of two of the main airstrips. They don't exist in base MSFS.
I used several default and customs assets and many others from various libraries.
The area is unique due to its rocky environment that I tried to replicate. Depending on the performance impact, I may extend the rock coverage in the area in future revisions.
Work done:
- runway and parking places creation, with custom profile
- complete recreation of the lake surface (boundaries and altitude)
- removal of all vegetation (only tussocks should be there but MSFS doesn't support this vegetation)
- creation of dozens of rock formations
- replacement of some autogen building with more accurate cabins
--What's new--
v1.1
Made compatible with World Update 12 "New Zealand" from February 2023.
--Installation--
Please remove any previous version of this scenery you may have.
Just unzip and drop the "sbworks-airport-nz53-poolburnairstrip" folder into your "Community" folder of MSFS.

Great little airstrip. Good for exploring Central Otago.
