You can hover like a helicopter, or escort an airliner like a jet fighter. Participate in competitions or fly above cities in VR mount. Your only enemies - small fuel tank and extremely sensitive controls.
BASIC CONTROLS
Flaps handle is flight mode switch:
Flap #1 Cruise flight - native flight model only active
Flap #2 Stabilization - available at the speed less than 100kn, automatics will try to hold you in vertical position, manual control effectiveness also increased
Flap #3 Hovering - automatics will try to hold you 10 meters above the surface, set throttle to 0% or 100% to avoid controls conflict
Flap #4 Landing - when you hover above ground, enable to land smoothly
Flap #5 Parachute - ensure you have at least 500ft altitude above ground. To toggle chute quickly, you can use Gears handle [G]

Anti Ice [H] - toggle first person view helmet visibility
Pitot Heater [Shift+H] - toggle HUD/HMD visibility

HOW REAL IS IT?
We are not trying to build a copy of any real aircraft. However, we are trying to make it fly at least somehow realistically for given specifications, in the existing limits of MSFS and our knowledge. Please consider JW1 as an evaluation of simulator capabilities rather than an attempt to create a flight trainer. Any experience you will get with this add-on can't be used in real life, both for flying or aircraft building.

This add-on does not support any of autopilot of assistance features - ensure that you disable all assistances on related tab before JW1 flight.

HOW TO INSTALL?
Unpack folder touchingcloud-aircraft-jw1 into Community directory of MSFS, launch simulator. You can use an add-on installer if you have any.
To install alternative flight model, after main files already unpacked (previous step), copy content of maxx2504-flight-model into community folder. Alternative FM is more stable and predictable - jetpack will fly like a small plane rather than body attached to the wing. If you feel default one too hard to control - try new one. If you are happy with “challenging” style of default FM - you better stay on it.

Delete folder touchingcloud-aircraft-jw1 from Community directory of MSFS, restart simulator.
IS VR/TrackIR SUPPORTED?
Yes, almost. We had an idea of Helmet Mounted Display implementation, which means avionics symbology is always in the middle of the screen. We have succeeded partially - it works with mouse camera controls, with some limitations, but currently MSFS SDK does not provide a way to get VR/TrackIR head rotation data. So by default the symbology screen follows the mouse view, while for head trackers you can use Spoilers axis to control the vertical position of the display manually. Model itself is fully supported by VR, you just need to configure controls for your needs - spoilers, flaps, gears and taxi lights (SkyPirat).
Readme PDF file inside of install archive. Helmet display symbology not explained in manual yet as it under development.
To apply hot fixes (if you have not made manual changes in config files), just unpack archive content into Community over existing folder. Before minor (like 0.9.0) or major (like 1.0) updates recommended to remove old version completely.

I am a user of the payed version but I can't find anywhere to post my opinions/questions:
Please try to make your user manual more comprehensible and not prone to incompatibilities. Using the JW1 free was OK using the payware version is frustrating.
You say in manual Flap#1 is Cruise... is actually Stabilization and that's why because there are just 4 flap position and not 6. There are just 1 to 4 and not 0 to 5.
Maybe you are not referring to keyboard commands but how can one understand this since the rest of commands are with Keyboard references.
Which brings me to the major point which is the control panel.
I am very sorry but:
"Int > End fixed camera (A to Toggle)"
is meaning nothing to me!!
It seems is connected to the only thing that might control the stuff in the module the control panel but is impossible to actually use it. Trying to figure this annoying stuff I also clicked on the free camera type only to have it switched to mouse free look without anyway to reset it back to headtracking /VR tracking
Please don't rely on "default" keybinds. Specify clearly what command actually does the function. I don't have default keybinds "A" is nothing on my keyboard.
Please take also in consideration starting the jetpack without smoke ON by default. Off is better at least performance wise.
Also a way to adjust position of the HMD in al directions would be nice. Currently it just hangs over my left shoulder being useless there.
Also about the VR controls, I wonder if is possible to use the position of the controls more than the ministicks that are Xboxish and meaningless as I have a HOTAS and is way better. But maybe having some grabbing points to grab onto and then control the flight would be cooler. At least for the parachute maybe?

How much 3rd party add-ons you have? Can you list all your aircraft?
MSFS has issue with effects compatibility - probably JW smokes conflicts with some of your add-ons.
You can try to delete/rename folder
touchingcloud-aircraft-jw1\VisualEffectLibs
and start flight with same aircraft again

I think it works now, I modified the VisualEffectLibs file and now I don't have a CTD, thanks.
On the other hand I can't remove the HUD, before I pressed my joystick and it disappeared (the spoiler toggle button), but now it doesn't work. And aren't there keys on the keyboard for changing the camera?

Yes, spoiler handle became optional feature - you can change HUD mode to Manual to control glass position manually with spoiler.
There is dedicated key to hide HUD - Shift+H by default (Toggle pitot heat)

Normally, script align jetpack vertically before parachute deployment, does it happened or it falls horizontally (like skydiver)?
What happen when you set flaps to #3 position (HOVER mode), is stabilization works at least somehow or it continue to fly straight?
Any chance your joystick sensitivity decreased? So X/Y axis not reach 100% levels

Hover mode normally make the jetpack wobble up and down uncontrollably like I wrtote. Once I hot it "working" and it put the jetpack into a like 30° or so climb and it throttled up and down to maintain about 98 kn. As I also wrote, hover mode works perfectly fine at takeoff.
Deployin the parachute doesn't put the jetpack into a specific orientation. It just instantly slows down to about 20 kn and randomly orientates it. After that if stalls out of the sky.
Never even changed any of the sensitivity settings. I checked the setting and when I push my stick back, it showed that it was at a 100%. That's not the problem I think.

At 10s: activated Hover mode and here it also starts to wobble. I'm not pressing any buttons here.

after that I tried to activate the chute 2 more times.

First thing I've noticed - you set throttle to idle (or at least near to it) before switch to the hover. However, hovering works only when engines thrust at least 50%. You can see how script fighting with your joystick - throttles jump up and down. To fix that (and wobbling) set throttle to maximum (usually 0% works as well but can't tell for any joystick).
What I can't understand - why on 0:12 flaps position reset from #3 (hovering) to #1 (free flight). Usually it happen when you reach 100kn airspeed. But, looks like hovering script continue to work (wobbling and throttles jumping). I can't say is it aircraft problem or your controls specific settings, but it looks like root of the issue.
Next time ensure that flaps stay on 2/3/4 during hovering, as otherwise it disabled (normally).
Another thing - when you hit gears key, flaps should be set to #5 automatically. It did not happen because script not able to set flaps position properly (maybe flaps set on analogue axis of your joystick? such may intercept script behaviour). As workaround you can try to set flaps to last position with your joystick instead of gears key.

At around 33s seconds I slow down to below 80 kn and then quickly throttle up to 100% and then set flaps to hover and try to pull up. In the second flight, at around 1:19 into the video the wobbling and trottling starts to happen again, even though I didn't go into any specific mode before. Maybe there is some script active that shouldn't be? At 1:40 I activated full flaps witha keybind and it's the same result as with G for gear.

Part1:
you need to remember that stabilisation disabled automatically when you reach 100kn mark - you can see on the video that flaps set to 0 right after you toggle hovering, i.e. disabled completely. As workaround pitch up a bit - 30 degrees maybe, help the script.
Part2:
really weird, I can't explain what happened - aircraft stop immediately, but flaps set to 0 (should be in last position). I even tried to download archive in case some files are damaged but everything works fine for me - when I hit G key at 150kn parachute was deployed. for testing purpose you can try to disconnect your joystick, takeoff with keyboard (F3 to increase throttles) and press G, at least you will know is control device responsible for this or some MSFS glitch.

I got it working! It was just one stupid setting in the assistance options. AI stall help or what it's called. That one prevented me from activating parachute and landing. Please add that to the top of the mod desciption, so other players that have this settings on don't get any issues! Great mod, thanks for trying to help!
Also: Is it normal that whenever I land with the jetpack using the parachute the fuel refills to 100%?

Great addon, for those having a hard time landing is simple, hit flaps 2 hover, then cut the throttle, jetpack will slowly descent to about 20ft, then hit flap 3 land and he will land softly on his feet.

Good concept, flying normal external view is good but when flying VR you have to keep your head tilt all the way back just to be able to see in front. I wish the view in VR was better more easy on the neck, because to look forward you have to tilt your neck back and is not comfortable.

ASOBO decided to remove possibility to adjust cockpit camera initial angle in VR.
You can try to remove dedicated VR camera from camera.cfg file, maybe it will work.
similar workaround applied in payware version, freeware update planned in 1-2 weeks - just can't find time for it right now.

I am not doing mods, and BlueMesh busy with payware projects as I know so unlikely smokes will be officially updated. But you can try to replace smoke GUIDs by yourself in model XML file, so it will use JW's smokes instead of default contrails.

Still not sure how it may happen - for me and our testers it works pretty fine.
You can turn on helmet visibility manually, just open /model/JetWing1.xml in text editor and replace
with
so helmet always will be visible in first person view (smile is ": S" without space)
