The Monza National Autodrome is an international motor racing circuit located within the Monza park. It is the third oldest permanent racetrack in the world, after Brooklands (no longer in use) and Indianapolis; it is also the historic site of the Italian Grand Prix, which took place here 80 times out of the 88 total; since its inception in 1950 (with the exception of 1980) it has always hosted Formula 1; from 1949 to 1968 it was also home to the Grand Prix of Nations of the World Championship. This is the circuit where the most Formula 1 Grand Prix took place; the 70th Grand Prix took place in the 2020 season.

Since 1991, with the modifications to the Silverstone circuit, the Brianza track is the fastest among the world championships: the absolute record of the circuit is 1'18 "887 with an average of 264.362 km / h, the highest ever in history of Formula 1, set by Lewis Hamilton on Mercedes in qualifying for the 2020 Italian Grand Prix. However, this time is not considered official because it is not established in the race.

The circuit is also used for numerous events, charity races, concerts and on some occasions it was also the departure or arrival of a stage of the Giro d'Italia. The racetrack has a capacity of 118 865 seats.
