Like I said, I can't figure it out and don't understand it..
I wanted to set up my own VA just for myself. A few planes and create routes myself.
I even bought a few airplanes, but I still can't fly. They're parked somewhere.
I don't know what else to do... but I tried it for 1-2 hours and gave up in frustration

The advantage of the program is of course that you fly with one task. You fly to achieve a result and you are quite free in your choice. This, combined with the economic success of an airline and the opportunity to work with others towards the same goal, is of course appealing. Unfortunately, there is still a lot missing to make this experience an all-round good one. And that brings us to the deficit. Some of it is annoying, some of it is just the desire to have it. Everyone can judge that for themselves. Let me show you what bothers me. Maybe it's a suggestion for the developers or maybe it's already in the pipeline.
It starts with the fact that there is no clear registration of airlines. 25x Lufthansa, 20x British Airways, etc. Why not simply ban the use of the major airlines and only allow a name to be used once? There are also many accounts in the register that are no longer used. This makes things confusing, especially as there are no filters or sorting in the company list.
The airline's account balance is shown in the company list. It is better to show a company value to evaluate the airline. Someone who owns 100 airplanes and has 0 dollars in their account is more successful than someone with 1 airplane and 100 million in their account, right? Plane have a price and a degration rate. Therefore you can evaluate a company value with Hubs, Workshops etc.
Aircraft cannot fly legs. You need one aircraft per destination. In addition, the airplanes are always scattered all over the world at the end of their turn and must be brought back to base by time consuming transfer flights. I don't think that's common practice. And it is an annoying manual task to do.
The route overview does not show whether a route is currently being flown. I keep an Excel list to see which destinations I am currently serving with AI pilots. Old school paper and pen.
Flights somehow generate money. It is not really clear how and why a route is successful or not. A benchmark is needed here. Money per passenger and mile compared to the average of all routes or something similar. Somehow there has to be an incentive to operate certain routes.
In addition, the cost side is completely missing or at least not recognizable. An old, inexpensive A300 should bring in less money per passenger and mile than an A320N or A330.
And there is a lot more…
I realize that it is of course about flying in the simulator. But if you position the program as an airline management tool, then it should include basic airline management.
So keep on working and take this as constructive criticism to get better. By the way, one of my aircrafts has turned into a ghost plane again. Flying between EDDL and EKCH without any crew and no need to land and refuel 😉
