Version 1.0.1 : Improved a lot the english version of the navlog. Translate to other languages.
I invite today to cross the USA with DC-3 used by American Airlines, already before the war, commercial transcontinental flights was scheduled, and this is one of these flights that you will follow. You will discover lot of the country, from the megalopolis skyscrapers to the fields around Memphis, from the Apalachian & Blue ridge moutains to the Chihuahua Desert, from the oil fields near Odessa to the wind fields near Palm Springs... All a gradient of landscapes in this continent !
This bushtrip is inspired by a 1945 map from American Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the world. The journey uses the airport of this compagny, and thanks to the courtesy of jamespejam, you will fly one of the DC-3 of the compagny at that time (The free Knoxville flagship livery is a mandatory download, be sure to select the 3rd link of the list - Knoxville without GPS -, not the first). Many languages are available thanks to Deep-L (english, french, spanish, german, italian, polish, portuguese, russian, chinese, japanese, flemish, finish, norwegian and swedish).
You will fly 27 legs to link eastern coast to the western one. Navlog is filled with VFR descriptions (so you will find your path following landmarks like highways, rivers, peaks), time to time, especially in deserts, it's necessary to use a VORDME beacon. Legs are pretty short in the beginning, but past Washington DC they are about 100 nm, some are up to 250 nm (so 1 to 2 hours, it depends your flying speed). The flight takes 4 days, from the morning to the evening, while the sun is shining. The weather is live.
Airports where you fly will be : KBOS - KPVD - KHFD - KLGA - KPHL - KMTN - KDCA - KLYH - KROA - KTRI - KDKX - KBNA - KMEM - KLIT - KTXK - KDAL - KFTW - KABI - KBPG - KELP - KDGL - KTUS - KPHX - KPSP - KLAX - KBFL - KFAT - KSFO
You will start each leg on a parking spot, a pushback might be useful time to time (you need an addon to pushback the DC-3, I uses this one). Use a DC-3 checklist or the shortcut (ctrl + E) to start the plane. To end a leg, you will need to shutdown engines, battery and set the parking brake.
I plan to do similar bushtrip, follow me if you like this one and if you want to be noticed when a new one will be published. If you like or if you have any suggestion, feel free to write a commentary.
Thanks to BuffyGC for Bushtrip Injector and to Alexander Barthel for Little Navmap. If you want the possibility to choose the plane, the weather, the time of day and the season (and some other goodies), then you should take a look at the experimental program - MissionChanger - on this website (also created by BuffyGC).
I Just finished the entire bush trip landing in the fog at San Francisco Intl'. Great fun in this trip. I learned a lot about handling the DC3 by taking this bush trip. Thank yo for the fun!

Just finished the last segment. You did a good job. Only issue I had was the mix of English and French for the waypoint descriptions but it is not a big deal. I see you updated the trip today to correct that issue.

Thank you !
Sorry for the english versions, I did a wrong move in the software. I should have checked the translation more in depth (the english version is a translatoin of the french one).

I have a little problem with the NavLog trip segments. Many of them are in French. I understand a little of it but I prefer English for all of the directions. What have I done wrong to get a mixture of French and English fligh leg instructions? I will leave a rating after I solve this problem which so far would be a 5 star except for the language problem.

Hi, that's why I made an update. I made a wrong move during the parametrization of the bushtrip, and so part of the comments are still in the original language. All of this is corrected now.

Thank you for the rating, this bushtrip was really long to create, a rating is really rewarding :)

No. I have been landing at the correct airport. I absolutely shut everything down and still no register of progress. I normally fly in VR. Could that be the issue? I have had the same issue several times before when flying custom bush trips and flying VR. Any chance you can redo the trip without the need to shut everything down in order to advance to the next leg? Only stop on the runway? Otherwise, it's a no go for me. Kinda disappointed but thanks.

I downloaded the special livery and got her going from Boston. Landed at the first stop and cannot for the life of me get it to register progress. I have tried twice: parked on the apron near the gates, shut down everything including radios, mags, engines, master power, battery, fuel valves, alternators. Set the chocks and opened the doors. Set the flaps to zero. Made sure the supercharges were off. Still won't register progress. Is there something I am missing? Is there a special place to park it? Thanks.

I checked, everything works for me. I made a manual start, flied, landed, taxied and parked on the midle on the taxiway, I shutdown the engine by cutting the mixture, cut the generators, the electrical devices (pumps, lights) and then avionics and the battery. Then the bushtrip saved the leg, as planned.
However, there are 3 airports in the area, especialy KOQU, which is 8 miles south of KPVD and has the same runway numbers. Maybe you landed on the wrong airport.

I am having the same problem. I will download the DC2 again and make sure I have the correct one (third one down on the list (correct?).

Okay, all is ffine. I downloaded the third one down in the list and also deleted the other two I had also downloaded. Maybe having more than one of the DC3s from the list confused MSFS. Don't know but it works now and looks like a fun trip.

Yes. The special required livery was downloaded and placed in my community folder. Correct? This bush trip is still not showing up in the custom content section. Thanks.

I'm sorry, I dowloaded my bushtrip and the latest version of the livery, and this is working. Be sure to download the 3rd link of the liveries (Knoxville without GPS) and not the first (Detroit without GPS). Does this livery appear in the livery selection tab when you select the DC-3 for a free flight ?

Same problem. I have been enjoying your Italy and Viet Nam trips but cannot access the cross USA DC-3 trip. It's not showing up in the custom content section.
