This project is considered complete, and will receive bug fixes and compatibility updates only.
HQ Sceneries (i.e. me) presents Tobermory Municipal Airport (CNR4). Tobermory is a small general aviation airport serving the beautiful Bruce Penisula region in Ontario, Canada. The airport features a 3180ft paved runway, two taxiways, and a small ramp with 100LL Avgas available. The airport has a UNICOM located in the quaint FBO building, as well as hangar space in two blue hangars at the far end of the apron.
You can find the real-life airport information in the Canada Flight Supplement available for free here -> FBO & Airport Info -> Type "CNR4" in the "Enter Airport ID" -> Canada Flight Supplement for CNR4.
Faithfully represented in MSFS, the scenery currently features:
- Custom PBR ground textures and markings. (NEW!)
- All custom buildings and miscellaneous objects with full native 4K PBR textures all compatible with snow effects.
- Custom night lighting including apron floodlights, building lighting, aerodrome environment and guidance lighting (making the windsock lighted, finally!).
- Correct aerodrome elevation, terraforms, and vegetation density/height/location.
- Custom animated airport beacon.
- Animated AWOS array with wind speed and wind direction indicators (NEW!)
The download file includes:
- Folder "hqscenery-airport-cnr4-tobermory"
- Document "Installation Instructions Tobermory.pdf"
Enjoy!
For support request, please email me with "Tobermory Support" somewhere in the subject line. Otherwise, questions in the review section will always be addressed. I can only do this during my spare time, so please allow for some time for a response.
Think my work is worth money? Help me out here to help me recoup the cost involved in making these scenery packages. Of course, just downloading the scenery and enjoying it already makes me more than happy!
What a nice little airport! I downloaded it without reading the full description and used it as my destination and what a treat it was coming here in dark not knowing about the custom beacon and lighted windsock! Looked really good! Thanks!

Beautifully done. Impressive.
It was odd because I spent the whole day doing it as it was a request I had said I would do. Then when I went in to update my progress, as I was it nearing completion, I saw it was already done. No matter because you did and outstanding job and I look forward to more.
Heads up 😊 I am doing Lake Simcoe and Muskoka in case you were thinking of doing those as well.

Thanks for the compliment!
This is my first upload, so I can't use the "I will make this" option. I marked it complete after the 1.0 release on the request list.
I mostly do Quebec airports, so if you'll be creating Ontario ones, there won't be any conflicts at all!

Amazing, Mate... You did it! Love the details and the actual pond of water on the property close to the airfield as it should be in reality... I also love the airfield covert in snow... Super cool! Thanks a lot for this small airport in one of the most beautiful area in Ontario.

Thanks for our very fruitful collaboration... you did an amazing job with this first release! Amazing delivery from my original request for this little beauty of an airfield" Also Such a quick delivery... Bravo! (I am also happy to see I was not the only one to like this small airfield!!)

I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that I managed to rotate the texture precisely down the runway now, so there's no need to have the texture 90 degrees from what they are like in real life anymore. Now it's perfectly tiled along the runway looking just like real life.

If you could make Wiarton Airport you would be my hero!

The airport size is definitely one I would consider, but I will need lots of reference photos from between and behind the hangars, as well as airside of the restaurant/FBO buildings. That's the problem with smaller airport - lack of reference photos to make an actually realistic addon.

Excellent! Thank you. Please do CYOS Owen Sound!!

I will certainly look into it, but at first glance, the airport's area without any real reference photos is just way too big. It's also quite a sizeable project if I want to create each hangar exactly accurate, rather than do one and copy-paste. If you're a local pilot, and have the permission to get photos, I will certainly look into it. Otherwise, it just won't be up to a standard that would justify custom-building the models instead of picking from the honestly quite good default hangar.

Great job! All it needs is the Che-Cheemaun!

That is, unfortunately, not on the list of things to be added in a future update. The modelling and texturing are too complex and I have no knowledge of scripting an animated ship between points. HOWEVER, if anyone would like to make that separately, I will gladly do everything I can to make my scenery compatible with it, including making the on-shore buildings/facilities.
